  • Patent number: 6573673
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustable motor vehicle seat with at least one of a horizontal seat adjustment, a seat height adjustment, a seat depth adjustment, and a seat back adjustment, as well as with a neck rest that is adjustable by an electric motor and guided by at least one sensor unit which is influenced by the size of the user, wherein the neck rest adjustment is controlled by an electronics unit which evaluates the sensor signals. An object of the present invention is to provide an economical vehicle seat which is independent of the level of equipment of the vehicle, wherein the neck rest is moved automatically in dependence on sensed parameters which take into account the body size of the user. This is achieved in that the electronics unit is mounted in the region of the neck rest which is adjustable by electric motor.

  • Patent number: 6448760
Abstract: The invention concerns arrangements for detecting a rotational or translatory movement between a signal-generating element having a symmetrical magnetic field and means for detecting the magnetic field of the signal-generating element. According to the invention, an analogue, magnet-sensitive sensor element is aligned such that the normal vector of the sensitive surface of the sensor element forms an angle to a vector pointing vertically from the sensor element perpendicularly to the axis of the signal-generating element. The sensor element generates signal pulses whose shapes between their edges are dependent on the direction of movement and rise or fall, such that, when the direction of movement is reversed, the sign of the signal shape changes. The invention proposes simple arrangements for detecting a rotational or translatory movement which requires only one sensor element yet has high resolution.

  • Patent number: 6354653
Abstract: A vehicle door has a door outside panel and a door inside panel provided with a large surface area cut-out recess which is covered by a support plate in a sealed manner, so that the door body is divided into a wet cell lying between the door outside panel and the support plate, and a dry cell lying between the support plate and an adjoining door inside trim. There are electrical and/or electronic components prefitted on the support plate, and electrical plug connectors which are arranged on the support plate on the dry cell side. Further, switch elements are mounted on the dry cell side of the support plate for manually controlling the electrical and/or electrical components. No electrical connection exists between the switch elements and the door inside trim.
