  • Patent number: 6097419
Abstract: A printer or copier has an optical character generator for reproducing raster image data in grey-scale displays. Integrated light sources in the form of LEDs arranged in arrays are aligned to form a print line. A control IC is provided for each LED array. Groups of the control ICs are formed in which information is shifted for the switch on time of all LEDs of a group starting with the first control IC to the next IC. The ICs are connected together by bonding. A ramp circuit is provided to prevent current surges when the LEDs are switched on. A flat unit that extends along the character generator is used to transmit information and power to the control ICs. Busbars ensure that power is provided to the LEDs.

  • Patent number: 5825405
Abstract: In a printing station, pins for engaging edge perforations of the paper are mounted on a toothed belt. The paper is lifted from a position fully engaged on the pins to a tapered head portion of the pins higher up on the pins to avoid stress on the paper from the pins. Lifting of the paper is provided by a paper guide element.

  • Patent number: 5791794
Abstract: A printing station includes pins for engaging into edge perforations of continuous paper. The pins are mounted on a toothed belt at the gaps between the belt teeth. A two part pin mounting has a portion engaged between the teeth of the belt.

  • Patent number: 5191379
Abstract: In a single-sheet page printer for both-sided printing of recording media, a flattening device is provided for flattening the curled recording media resulting from pressure and temperature influences in the print fixing station of the printer. The flattening device deforms the recording media in the plastic domain so that the recording media are again lent a smooth and flat form. To this end, the recording medium is pulled over an edge by paper conveyor rollers opposite a pressing power exerted by spring elements and is thereby pulled taut and aligned. When the flattening device is arranged immediately following the fixing station, then it is proposed that the pressure roller be set back in the direction of the recording medium delivery relative to the position of the fixing drum.

  • Patent number: 5060025
Abstract: Printing apparatus for printing one or both sides of single sheets fed consecutively to the printing apparatus, with a printing channel with an associated printing station and paper-transport elements. The printing channel is coupled on the entry and exit sides to a return channel which has paper-transport elements and a turning device and which, as required, after the printing of a front side feeds the single sheets to the printing station once again for the printing of the reverse side. The printing channel is followed by a paper-transport channel system having paper-transport elements and with a separate duplex channel and simplex channel for the separate transport of the single sheets printed on both sides or on one side into a common output channel with a second turning station for the duplex sheets.

  • Patent number: 4426149
Abstract: A photocopier scanning system has a scanning member (which may be the scanning lamp, a scanning mirror, a scanning slit, or a document carrier) on a scanning system powered by a d.c. drive motor synchronized to the rotation of the a.c. main drive motor for the other components of the photocopier. A variable programmer using a phase locked loop control circuit including pulse encoders slaved to the motors maintains strict synchronization between the scanning drive motor and the main drive motor with an appropriate proportionality dependent upon the image magnification/reduction ratio of the photocopier. The optical system may include a movable zoom lens element which gives infinitely variable selection of the magnification/reduction ratio, and which can readily be connected to the programmer to achieve an infinitely variable proportionality between the speeds of the scanning drive motor and the main drive motor to suit any such magnification/reduction ratio.
