Abstract: An improved machine for making bag-like two-compartment packages of a pliant material, particularly tea bags, having a tag secured thereto by a thread, which are formed by folding operations and closed by staples from a flexible tube filled with separate servings amounts is disclosed. The improvement includes a plurality of axially parallel shafts extending side by side and mounted for displacement in a rotary or axial motion which are provided as actuating members that, directly or through intermediate members such as cam rails or cams, are provided laterally of a conveyor for controlling the individual movable parts of individual working assemblies.
