  • Publication number: 20070218182
Abstract: The present invention relates to fat products based on whole egg or egg yolk which have a high content of triglycerides and/or phospholipids of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids having at least 20 carbon atoms and of specific unsaturated C18 fatty acids. These products are distinguished by a low carbohydrate content and a high oxidation stability and bioavailability of the bioactive fatty acids. The fat products are used in the animal and human nutrition sector.

  • Publication number: 20070004678
Abstract: The production and use, and in particular, the extraction, separation, synthesis and recovery of polar lipid-rich fractions containing gamma linolenic acid (GLA) and/or stearidonic acid (SDA) from seeds and microorganisms and their use in human food applications, animal feed, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

  • Patent number: 7045143
Abstract: The invention relates to an oil, fat and/or lecithin-based fat blend containing polyunsaturated fatty acids. The inventive fat blend is characterized in that the fatty acids gamma-linolenic, stearidonic acid and eicosapentaenoic together make up 10 to 500 mg/g total fatty acids. The gamma-linolenic and eicosapentaenoic acids each represent 20 to 50 wt. % and the stearidonic acid represents 15 to 50 wt. % of the sum of these three fatty acids. The inventive fat blend can be incorporated into a dietetic or a pharmaceutical product, especially a dietetic food, and can be used especially for administering to patients suffering from chronic/inflammatory diseases, disorders of the lipid metabolism, a weakened immune function and/or a restricted lipolytic capacity of the gastrointestinal tract.

  • Publication number: 20050129739
Abstract: The production and use, and in particular, the extraction, separation, synthesis and recovery of polar lipid-rich fractions containing eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), docosapentaenoic acid (DPA(n-3) or DPA(n-6)), arachidonic acid (ARA), and eicosatetraneonoic acid (C20:4n-3) from microorganisms, genetically modified seeds and marine organisms (including fish and squid) and their use in human food applications, animal feed, pharmaceutical applications and cosmetic applications.

  • Patent number: 5539133
Abstract: In the method of the invention to obtain lipids with a high proportion of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs) with 20 to 22 carbon atoms by extraction from a raw material of animal or vegetable origin, unicellular algae (microalgae), macroalgae from the families of the brown, red and green algae and/or residues of alginate or carrageenin production with a water content of .ltoreq.50 weight % and a particle size of .ltoreq.50 mm are used. For extraction, an organic solvent or a compressed gas is used. A lipid extract with a high proportion of w6 LCP and w3 LCP and in particular with a content of at least 5 weight % of arachidonic acid and/or a content of at least 3 weight % of docosahexanoic acid is also prepared.
