  • Patent number: 5526232
Abstract: A control device, in particular for motor vehicles has a metal housing, a printed board provided with a circuit and surrounded at least partially by the metal housing, a plug connection having a plug insert with at least one plug contact connected with the printed board, and a metal casing which at least partially surrounds the plug insert. The casing extending substantially inside the housing close to the printed board.

  • Patent number: 5229957
Abstract: In a method for tolerance compensation of a position signal (W) of a position transducer, which has two mechanical end stops, first and second end values (W1, W2) of the position signal that are assigned to the two end stops and are stored in a read-write memory. Starting values (W1S, W2S) are stored in a read-write memory of the evaluation circuit and are set within the tolerance limits of the actual signal (Wd) detected by the position transducer. The starting values (W1S, W2S) are initially taken over as the ned values (W1, W2) into a read-write memory and cyclically compared with the actual or detected position signal (Wd). If a stored end value (W2) is exceeded by the detected position signal (Wd) or if within a predetermined time period (P) no position signal above the stored end value (W2) has been detected, the position signal is taken over as a new end value (W2) into the read-write memory, and the previous value is erased.

  • Patent number: 5213078
Abstract: A method is presented for determining at least one end position of a displacement device (14) in a motor vehicle, wherein the displacement device (14) can be driven in the direction of its end positions and, in order to determine the particular end position, the displacement device (14) is driven to this end position and, on reaching this end position, the position of the displacement device is stored as representing the end position. Storage of the position of the displacement device of the particular end position takes place when the control variable of the displacement device has reached a particular predetermined value and/or has maintained this value for a predetermined period of time. This method is utilized in an advantageous manner to determine the end positions of a power actuator of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5002032
Abstract: An apparatus to control an internal combustion engine in vehicles, containing a set point value transducer which is adjustable by means of a drive lever, a control motor driving a throttle valve, and control electronics which use the output signals from the set point value transducer to generate a control signal for the control motor. In order to maintain emergency operation in the event of a failure of the electric controls, an emergency operation system directly transmits the drive lever or gas pedal position to the throttle valve. To insure the engagement of the emergency operation system in the event of problem on the one hand, and to prevent additional friction being exerted on the control motor during normal operation on the other, the emergency operation system contains a coupling whose one coupling element is firmly fixed to the throttle valve and whose other coupling element is permanently attached to the drive lever.
