  • Patent number: 6276446
Abstract: A recooling system for cooling water from a condenser of a steam power plant includes a number of cooling modules, each of which can be fed through a water-feed shaft allocated thereto. The water-feed shafts are connected to one another like communicating tubes and are connected through a common main cooling-water line to the condenser. Such a recooling system can be installed and operated in an especially simple manner.

  • Patent number: 4855893
Abstract: Low-loss external wiring, for the switching-off relief of the semiconductor switching elements in a stage of a three-level inverter provides a switching-off relief capacitor which is connected to the stage output. Wiring capacitors are coupled to each of the upper and lower ends of the stage. The inverter also includes a diode network. Additional d-c consumers which are preferably either ohmic resistors or energy recovery devices take up energy which is interim-stored in the wiring capacitors.

  • Patent number: 4778277
Abstract: Mixing device for embedding biologically harmful wastes in a solidifying binder, includes a tubular housing, an assembly of a pre-mixer, a pass-through mixer and a discharge pump having rotatingly movable parts disposed along a common rotational axis and in substantially vertical direction within the tubular housing, and a drive motor mounted at the upper end of the assembly for rotating the movable parts in common, the movable part of the pre-mixer being centrically disposed in the housing, and the movable part of the discharge pump being eccentrically disposed with play in the housing.

  • Patent number: 4636363
Abstract: Apparatus for the conditioning of radioactive wastes capable of ultimate storage, using a multicomponent binding agent, with a continuous-flow mixer, a filling station for the ultimate storage barrels, a receiver tank for liquid waste materials, a silo for a component of the binding agent, and several conveyors. A premixer for the one binding agent component and for flowable waste materials is provided. The premixer is connected via throughput measuring devices to the silo and to a container for flowable wastes. The premixer is connected via a dosing conveyor device to one end of the continuous-flow mixer. Thereafter, the receiver tank is connected to the continuous-flow mixer. A discharge conveyor device which feeds the ultimate storage barrels is mounted at the other end of the continuous-flow mixer.

  • Patent number: 4634943
Abstract: An inductive load 1, more specifically a direct current motor, is fed by a direct current source through a semiconductor regulator which contains two parallel switching controllable semiconductor rectifier elements with identical conduction direction which in turn are in series with a respective one-half of center tapped output autotransformer. Parallel to the semiconductor regulator is an additional and identical semiconductor regulator. The center tap points of both semiconductor regulator autotransformers are connected with the terminals of a third output autotransformer which is similarly center tapped, whereby the center tap point of the third output autotransformer is connected to a terminal (+) of the inductive load. The control assembly is made in such a manner that it produces clock frequency signals with identical control levels for both semiconductor rectifier elements; however, these signals for the two parallel switching arrangements are, electrically offset by 90 degrees.

  • Patent number: 4414475
Abstract: Shielding container assembly for storing weak to medially active waste in a storage barrel, including a shielding container having a substantially square cross section surrounding the storage barrel, the shielding container having two pairs of oppositely-disposed sections, one of the pairs having symmetrical projections formed thereon and the other of the pairs having chamfers formed thereon, the projections and chamfers effecting anchoring of the containers when stacked close to each other.

  • Patent number: 4191994
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an inverter comprising at least two controllable load thyristors. One diode each is connected in antiparallel fashion with each load thyristor, which diode is a component of a commutation installation for the corresponding load thyristor. The commutation installation manifests two LC-series oscillatory circuits, which are dimensioned for two different load currents. There is present for each LC-series oscillatory circuit one pair each of commutation thyristors. The two commutation thyristors of one of the two pairs, respectively, are alternately ignited such that, during the commutation of the load thyristors the commutation current can flow in a low impedance circuit.

  • Patent number: 4191993
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an inverter comprising at least two controllable load thyristors which connect a load alternately with the poles of a feed d.c. voltage source. There is connected in parallel with each load thyristor one diode each which is a component of a commutation installation. The commutation installation manifests an LC-series oscillatory circuit dimensioned for a specified load current, and, manifests, for each load thyristor a controllable commutation thyristor which forms a closed circuit with the LC-series oscillatory circuit and its diode. The LC-series oscillatory circuit is connected to an auxiliary d.c. voltage source of a constant voltage via a reloading circuit.
