  • Patent number: 8620513
Abstract: An actuator arrangement for a motor vehicle drive train has a control device, an electric actuator and a drive circuit for the actuator. The drive circuit receives at least one nominal signal relating to an actuator from the control device and converts it into a drive signal for the actuator. The control device is checked for faults by means of a monitoring device. The drive circuit and/or a power stage which is arranged between the drive circuit and the motor receives a reset signal when such a fault occurs. Further, the control device is configured to check the function of the drive circuit and to generate a reset signal for the drive circuit and/or for the power stage if a malfunction occurs.

  • Patent number: 5093534
Abstract: A process for the preparation of saturated alcohols from aldehydes is disclosed. The hydrogenation of saturated and unsaturated aldehydes to alcohols can be carried out over catalysts containing cooper and nickel. In the present process, the selectivity of the alcohol preparation is further improved by a combination of an alkaline copper catalyst and a nickel-containing catalyst whose carrier material has acidic centers of a certain acid strength H.sub.o.

  • Patent number: 5011661
Abstract: A method for disinfecting a contact lens comprises immersing the lens in an aqueous solution of H.sub.2 O.sub.2 having a pH of 4 or below and adding to the solution a neutralizing agent comprising a catalyst for decomposing any residual H.sub.2 O.sub.2 and a retarding agent for delaying the decomposition of the H.sub.2 O.sub.2 for a predetermined time in order to permit sterilization of the lens to be substantially complete. The retarding agent preferably comprises either a polymeric coating which dissolves gradually in the H.sub.2 O.sub.2 solution or a semipermeable membrane enveloping the catalyst. The neutralizing agent preferably also contains an auxiliary material which raises the pH of the acidic H.sub.2 O.sub.2 solution. The enzymatic decomposing agent can be embedded in a particulate carrier substance forming the bottom part of a two part container, the upper part of which contains an aqueous solution of H.sub.2 O.sub.

  • Patent number: 4834962
Abstract: A process for the catalytic gaseous phase reaction of a reactive gas wherein the heat of reaction generated produces a temperature elevation of less than about 150.degree. C. in the substantially adiabatic reaction system, the improvement comprising:heating the cold reactive gas by passing it through a heated regenerative material present in the first portion of a vessel;passing the heated reactive gas through a solid catalyst for the reaction present in a second portion of the vessel to form a gaseous product stream;redirecting the gaseous product stream;passing the redirected gaseous product stream through the solid catalyst for the reaction present in the second portion of the vessel to form additional gaseous product, cooling the gaseous product stream by passing it through a cooled regenerative material present in the first portion of the vessel; andperiodically reversing the flow direction in the portions of the reaction system.

  • Patent number: 4710848
Abstract: A solid state cell for measuring the activity of a component of a mixture using a solid ionic conductor, which is in contact on one side with a reference phase and on the other side with a phase sensitive to the gas component to be determined, is to be improved in such a manner that its detection sensitivity and measuring stability are increased. For this purpose, the gas sensitive phase contains an addition of a substance that increases the electronic conductivity and does not chemically react with the components of the sensitive phase and the gas to be determined.

  • Patent number: 4592837
Abstract: Solids from a liquid containing heavy metals are filtered by first degassing the solids-laden liquid and then subjecting the degassed liquid to sedimentation to remove large particles and subsequently intermediate size particles. The suspension of fine particles is then passed in counterflow to a moving bed of granulate, especially black peat, to which the particles tend to adhere externally and internally. Clear liquid is removed from the top of the moving bed and the granulate is washed after being withdrawn from the bottom of the bed and is recycled to the moving bed.

  • Patent number: 4588090
Abstract: A blister pack strip comprises two congruent deep-drawn carrier foils (1) of polystyrene. Each foil (1) has a thickness of between 130 and 190.mu.. The foils (1) are coated on their facing surfaces with polyethylene (2) having a thickness of between 40 and 50.mu., are welded together in mirror image to form a plurality of pockets (7), and define a plurality of inlet funnels (4) along one edge of the strip communicating with respective pockets. Each inlet funnel (4) is at least partly closed by a weld bridge (5). Welded-up squirt nozzles (8) communicating with each pocket (7) are formed on the side of the strip opposite to the inlet funnels (4), and a groove (9) is provided transversely to the squirt nozzles (8) and parallel with the adjacent edges of the carrier foils (1).

  • Patent number: 4131678
Abstract: A combination of urapidil and furosemide, e.g., in the form of an acid-addition salt, in the form of a physical admixture or in the form of two distinct components collectively constitutes an effective active ingredient in the treatment of hypertension. The combination is advantageously incorporated in a standard dosage form and administered by various routes to mammals afflicted with high blood pressure. By combining furosemide with urapidil on one of the noted forms, the maximum hypotensive activity of urapidil is increased, while the side effects and toxicity of urapidil are reduced.
