  • Patent number: 7805888
Abstract: An adapter received in an opening of a partition wall of a vehicle door connects a cable plug of a cable harness to a module plug of a door control module. The adapter includes a mount for the module plug, a mount for the cable plug, and an abutment face providing a seal at the partition wall. The adapter further includes a latching tab. When the adapter is inserted into the opening, the latching tab flexes outwardly, securing the adapter to the partition wall. The module plug and the cable plug can be inserted into or removed from the adapter without affecting the sealing between the wet area and the dry area of the vehicle door.

  • Publication number: 20070024226
Abstract: A method for controlling at least one electric drive of a vehicle includes comparing a value of an electric variable to a threshold. The electric variable relates to an operation of the electric drive or is derived from the operation of the electric drive. The electric drive is stopped or operated with a reduced value of the electric variable if the threshold is reached and/or if the threshold is exceeded. The threshold is specified by a permissible value of the electric variable relating to an operation of several electric drives.

  • Patent number: 7071637
Abstract: A window lifter system and method coordinates closing of multiple windows by detecting when more than one window pane is approaching a fully closed position and moving one window pane to only an approximately closed position while the other window pane is moved to the fully closed position. By staggering the closure of window panes to the fully closed positions, the system and method provides the illusion that all of the window panes are being closed at the same time while avoiding voltage drops in the vehicle power supply caused by excessively high blocking currents generated when multiple window panes are moved to the fully closed position.

  • Publication number: 20050240837
Abstract: A method of operating a control unit (CU) begins by performing a power on reset. If the CU receives a start-up message within a predefined time period after the reset, then the CU enters a diagnostic mode in which a diagnostic communication can be established with a diagnostic unit. If no start-up message is received within the predefined time period, the CU enters a normal mode of operation. The CU includes a memory designated to store data unique for a respective vehicle type, a first communication module allowing communication via a bus system under a first protocol for normal operation of the CU, and a second communication module allowing communication via the bus system under a second protocol for accessing the memory.

  • Publication number: 20050174079
Abstract: A squeeze protection system for a window lifter system in a motor vehicle includes a control that drives a drive motor to move a window pane, and a detection unit that determines whether an obstacle is in the path of the window pane. The detection unit makes an image available to the control to detect an obstacle. The detection unit is part of a vehicle surrounding detection system that can detect the presence of another vehicle, for instance, in a driver's blind spot. In addition, the control comprises a method for controlling a window lifter system in the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6823629
Abstract: A method for eliminating squeaking noises occurring when operating a window lifter for motor vehicles which is driven by an electric motor is proposed. The squeaking noises are detected by a system for evaluating acoustic signals. This system generates for the duration of the squeaking noise a command signal which is delivered to a window lifter control device. This varies the speed of the electric motor within fixed limits, until the system for evaluating acoustic signals no longer detects any squeaking noise or it is recognised that speed variations are ineffective. The method is particularly advantageous if a voice control system which can be used as a system for evaluating acoustic signals is provided in the motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6759817
Abstract: A window lifter system comprises a first window lifter motor and a master control device for the first window lifter motor. The master control device is able to detect a position of a window pane driven by the first window lifter motor and to drive the first window lifter motor at a variable speed. The system further comprises at least one second window lifter motor and a slave control device for the second window lifter motor. The slave control device is able to detect a position of a window pane driven by the second window lifter motor and to drive the second window lifter motor at a variable speed. A bus system is provided by means of which the master and slave control devices are able to communicate with each other. There is also proposed a method of controlling such a window lifter system.

  • Publication number: 20020046503
Abstract: A door module intended for fitting in motor vehicle doors has a system carrier, which is preferably molded in the shape of a plate from a plastics material and is formed for positioning a window lifter unit, preferably a cable window lifter. An electric drive unit of the window lifter unit bears a housing for the control electronics, which is partly fastened to the drive unit in a sealed manner and partly constituted by the system carrier. When the drive unit is positioned on the system carrier the housing is closed in one operation with a sealing action, with the drive unit being directly electrically connected at the same time by means of plug-in contacts and complementary mating contacts, which are engaged in an electrically conductive manner when the housing is closed.
