Patent number: 7726741Abstract: In a longitudinal adjuster (3) for a vehicle seat having a backrest that can pivot freely, a first seat rail (13), and a second seat rail (15) relative to which the first seat rail (13) can be displaced longitudinally, a locking device (16) for locking the longitudinal adjuster (3), a memory device assigned to the first seat rail (13) and interacting with the second seat rail (15), said memory device memorizing a set longitudinal seat position which is relinquished when the vehicle seat (1) is longitudinally displaced during the free pivoting of the backrest (5) and is then re-assumed once the seat is displaced back again, and an actuation device (101) assigned to the first seat rail (13), which actuation device actuates the resetting of the memory device and the unlocking of the locking device (16), the actuation device (101) is arranged with limited movement capability in the longitudinal direction relative to the first seat rail (13).Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2005Date of Patent: June 1, 2010Assignee: KEIPER GmbH & Co. Patent number: 7438359Abstract: A longitudinal adjuster for a vehicle seat includes a displacement sensor (21), which can interact with a seat rail, and a control signal emitter (41), which can be displaced in relation to the displacement sensor (21). The relative movement of the signal emitter (41) in relation to the displacement sensor (21) reproducing, from a starting position, the longitudinal displacement carried out. The control signal emitter (41) is subjected to a control torque, at the latest once the stored longitudinal position of the seat has been reached, and then controls at least one blocking element (73) which interacts with the seat rail by way of a control spring (51). A control bearing (45) is arranged between the control signal emitter (41) and the control spring (51), which guides the control signal emitter (41) and which supports the control spring (51).Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2007Date of Patent: October 21, 2008Assignee: KEIPER GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Wolfgang Klahold, Gerhard Mitulla

Patent number: 6799800Abstract: In a longitudinal adjuster for a vehicle seat having a freely pivotable backrest, with the longitudinal adjuster having a first seat rail, a second seat rail, in relation to which the first seat rail can be slid in the longitudinal direction, and a memory device (11) which is assigned to the first seat rail, interacts with the second seat rail and stores a longitudinal seat position which can be left by means of a longitudinal displacement of the vehicle seat when the backrest pivots freely, and resumed when the backrest pivots back, a displacement measuring device (21), which can be operatively connected to the second seat rail, and a control signal generator (53), which can move in relation to the displacement measuring device (21), are provided for playing a role in resuming the stored longitudinal seat position.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2004Date of Patent: October 5, 2004Assignee: Keiper GmbH & Co. Patent number: 5816110Abstract: A locking device for vehicle seats, in particular motor vehicle seats, has a row of detent openings and a plurality of spring-loaded bolts which are disposed one behind the other in the direction of this row. The locking bolts engage independently of one another in the detent openings. At least two of these bolts can each engage in one of the detent openings and lock the seat parts without play in both adjusting directions, in any position within the adjusting range of these parts which are to be locked. The seat parts can be continuously adjusted relative to one another. In addition to its movability enabling it to engage in one of the detent openings, each locking bolt has at least one component part which is separately movable. A flat area is provided on each bolt for play-free abutment on the delimiting surface of each detent opening and is brought into abutment with the delimiting surface without altering the depth of penetration of the bolt in the detent opening.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1997Date of Patent: October 6, 1998Assignee: Keiper Recaro GmbH & Co.Inventors: Rolf Schuler, Heinz Voss, Gerhard Mitulla, Jurgen Stemmer
