  • Patent number: 8182792
Abstract: A process for micronization of pharmaceutically active agents.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 2005
Date of Patent: May 22, 2012
    Assignee: Novartis AG

  • Publication number: 20100266696
Abstract: A process of preparing a particulate and substantially crystalline drug substance. The process involves suspending a substantially crystalline drug substance in an anti-solvent to give a suspension, homogenising the suspension at elevated pressure to give drug particles that have a mean particle size of less than about 10 ?m, and drying the drug particles to remove any residual anti-solvent.

  • Publication number: 20100247658
Abstract: A process for reducing the tendency of a drug substance to aggregate and/or agglomerate during storage. The process involves micronising the drug substance to give a mean particle size of less than about 10 ?m, and exposing the micronised drug substance to a dry environment at an elevated temperature between 40° C. and 120° C. for at least six hours.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20090264461
Abstract: A novel polymorphic crystal form of (R)-3-(2-hydroxy-2,2-diphenyl-acetoxy)-1-(isoxazol-3-ylcarbamoyl-methyl)-1-azonia-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane bromide, designated crystal form Talpha. Methods for preparing same and the use of the crystal form as the active ingredient of medicaments for the treatment of inflammatory or obstructive airways diseases are also described.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: October 22, 2009
    Inventors: Stéphanie Monnier, Gerhard Muhrer
  • Publication number: 20090221761
Abstract: A process for purifying a polymer containing residual volatile monomers by drying the polymer powder under vacuum at a pressure and at a temperature which allows the vaporization of the residual monomers and optionally de-aggregating by sieving.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 8, 2009
    Publication date: September 3, 2009
    Applicant: NOVARTIS AG
    Inventors: Gerhard MUHRER, Gesine WINZENBURG

  • Patent number: 5056352
Abstract: Method and apparatus for generating a precisely defined dynamic pressure pulse. A rigid pressure chamber contains a pressure transmission agent. The pressure chamber has a through opening in which is disposed a piston. A drop weight outside the pressure chamber coacts with the piston to generate a pressure pulse. The mass of the drop weight and the cross section of the piston, along with the chronological curve of acceleration of the drop weight during coaction with the piston, are used to generate a curve representing the pressure pulse. The curve satisfies the following equation: ##EQU1## wherein: m=mass of the drop weight;a(t)=said acceleration curve; andA=said cross sectional area of said piston.

  • Patent number: 4928523
Abstract: An apparatus and method for identifying the path/time relationships of a projectile within a weapon barrel, even upon live firing, includes a coupling element having at least two openings in a sidewall thereof through which a generated electromagnetic wave is divided and then introduced into the barrel. The divided wave includes wave parts that propagate toward and away from the barrel, the parts propagating toward the barrel adding up and being introduced into the barrel while the parts propagating away from the barrel cancel each other out. The wave reflects off from the projectile and is then received after undergoing an inverse division.
