  • Patent number: 4690176
Abstract: In a back rest arrangement on a weaving machine the back rest is preferably carried at each of its ends by one arm of a two-armed support frame or yoke which is pivotable about a stationary pivot axis on a machine frame. At least one of the arms of the support frame or yoke possesses a resilient portion or shank. A free end of the resilient shank is supported in a manner which is relatively rigid in relation to a pivoting motion of the support frame or yoke caused by the varying warp force acting on the back rest. The resilient shank is in operative association with a sensing probe for generating an electrical signal which is proportional to the deflection of the resilient shank. These measures render the arrangement suitable both for a so-called rigid or fixed back rest support as well as for a back rest support utilizing a rocking lever or rocker beam.

  • Patent number: 4593236
Abstract: A regulation device for the rotary drive of a warp beam of a weaving machine for producing as uniform as possible a tension force on an unwinding material or group of warp threads conducted to a weaving device and then to a fabric take-up device. A tachometer is associated with a power regulator arranged ahead of the motor of the rotary drive as a momentary value transducer and comprises a generator for generating a signal corresponding to the tension force or tensile stress in the material or warp threads as well as a further generator for generating a signal corresponding to the take-up speed of the fabric being woven from the unwinding material or threads. These two signals are connected to a multiplier stage whose output signal is conducted to the power regulator of the rotary drive as a reference value.

  • Patent number: 4438791
Abstract: A weft thread-selection apparatus for a weaving machine or loom comprises a carrier or support element which oscillates or pivots in cycle with the weft thread-insertion frequency. The oscillatable support element carries at its free end a number of electromagnetic devices, for instance electromagnets corresponding to the number of thread infeed rods and is rotatably supported at its other end for pivotal movement about a shaft. This shaft simultaneously constitutes the pivot point for oscillatable or pivotal arm members, each of which is retained under the action of spring means in its preparatory position. Each of the oscillatable or pivotal arm members is hingedly connected at its free end with one of the thread infeed rods and each oscillatable arm member carries a magnet armature intended to cooperate in a coupling fashion with one of the electromagnets. The row of electromagnets extends below the oscillatable or pivotal arm members.

  • Patent number: 4427038
Abstract: An actuation device for a drive element, such as the drive gear of a gripper needle encompasses a box which can be attached to the sley of a shuttlesess loom. Accommodated in this box is a traction means-transmission or drive containing a toothed belt of a drive pulley or disc which is operationally connected with the drive gear and a tensioning pulley or disc. The run of the toothed belt extends essentially parallel to a slide guide for a slide which is fixedly connected with the aforementioned belt run. The slide or carriage is moved to-and-fro by means of a lengthwise adjustable intermediate rod through the action of a crank drive. The adjustable spacing between the reversal points of the slide constitutes a measure for the insertion depth of the weft thread carrier into the shed. This enables a simple and robust as well as adaptable conception by means of which there can be obtained an extremely precise and unchanging insertion depth of the weft thread carrier into the weaving shed.

  • Patent number: 4227825
Abstract: The invention relates to a release device for effecting the automatic rapid braking of moving machine parts, particularly of looms, which includes a braking actuating linkage subject to the action of force in the direction of actuation and maintained locked when the brake is released during machine running operation, and an electromagnet for unlocking the braking actuating linkage, energization of which is controlled by signals from monitoring members produced in case of breakdowns.

  • Patent number: 4015640
Abstract: A reed for high speed broad fabric loom comprises an upper reed beam, a lower reed beam and blades stretched between the upper and the lower reed beams. A dynamic oscillation absorber in the form of a mass is mounted on either the upper or the lower beam or both by means of a resilient mounting in order to provide a stamping action transverse to the plane of the reed blades. A particularly favorable effect on the loom sley oscillations and the flight of the shuttle on the sley path is effected if the dynamic vibration absorber is mounted on the bottom rib or the lower sley beam rather than on the top beam.
