  • Patent number: 8515229
Abstract: A method of producing an elastomeric optical conductor fiber composed of plastic includes drawing a fiber composed of a high-viscosity liquid reactive starting material. The starting material is added by way of a nozzle to a reaction apparatus, to which a liquid, which is inert towards the starting material, has been charged. At least partial crosslinking of the starting material takes place in the reaction apparatus. The elastomeric plastic of the optical conductor fiber is in particular a three-dimensionally crosslinked polyurethane.

  • Patent number: 7521665
Abstract: In order to be able to reliably detect when an object is caught between two parts which move in relation to one another in a motor-driven closing mechanism, in particular in an electromotively driven window winder system, provision is made for the sensor system to have an optical pressure sensor as well as an electrical capacitive sensor in addition. The optical pressure sensor comprises a light-guiding element, a light source for injecting light into the light-guiding element and a light sensor for sensing the light which has been output. The electrical sensor comprises an electrode which is connected to a voltage source. Both sensors are each assigned to an evaluation unit for evaluating the respective signal.

  • Patent number: 7282679
Abstract: In order to make it possible to produce a secure and permanent contact connection between an electrical conductor made from a soft material, in particular an aluminum conductor, and a contact element made from a harder material, the conductor is encapsulated at least partially in a contact region by an electrically conductive material. The electrically conductive material is harder than the soft material of the conductor. The electrically conductive material is applied with the aid of a thermal spraying process, with the result that there is a pressure-free electrical connection between the soft material and the sprayed-on material. Electrical contact is made with the contact element indirectly via the sprayed-on material. The thermal encapsulation by the spraying in the contact region makes it possible for a reliable electrical contact to be made even in the case of soft materials having a tendency towards cold flow.

  • Patent number: 6939139
Abstract: A simple connection of a conventional electrical unit to the conductor tracks of an electric system, such as a motor vehicle electric system, is provided. The conductor tracks are directly applied to a support, for example, by flame spraying. A terminal adapter is placed, via a partial element, between the support, which is fitted with the conductor tracks, and the electrical unit to be connected. The conductor tracks are guided, inside the terminal adapter to a conventional electrical connection of the unit.

  • Patent number: 6912912
Abstract: A pressure sensor includes an optical waveguide having an optical fiber with a refractive index n1, located in a fiber guide with a refractive index n3, forming an intermediate region. A medium with a refractive index n2 is located in the intermediate region. The refractive indices correspond to the relation n3>n1>n2. When subjected to a pressure, the fiber guide is pressed against the optical fiber such that the condition for the total reflection required for the normal optical waveguidance in the optical waveguide is no longer fulfilled, and attenuation takes place. The attenuation is evaluated in a corresponding control unit. The pressure sensor is especially provided for an anti-pinch device in the motor vehicle industry.

  • Publication number: 20040055153
Abstract: In the method for producing a molding with an integrated conductor run, a conductor run is produced on a mount component in particular with the aid of gas flame spraying or cold gas spraying. For this purpose, the surface of the mount component is selectively treated in a corresponding manner to a profile that is provided for the conductor run, such that the surface has areas of different adhesion. A germination layer is applied to the profile that is provided for the conductor run, and the actual conductor run is then in turn applied to the germination layer. This makes it possible to produce a molding with an integrated conductor run pattern in a highly flexible and cost-effective manner. Specific customer wishes can be implemented at short notice and without any problems by a change to the conductor run layout, particularly in the field of motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 6656396
Abstract: For the production of a particularly dimensionally stable cable set, the single conductors (22) of the cable set are initially inserted into a cavity (8) of a foam tool (2) and a foaming material is subsequently filled in. To dispense with involved and expensive hydraulic equipment, a vacuum is generated to press a top half (6) and a bottom half (4) of the foaming tool (2) against each other. For this, vacuum channels (6) are preferably provided, which extend along sides of the cavity (8).

  • Patent number: 6481101
Abstract: A method for producing a cable harness includes the step of applying an essentially strip-shaped base layer having a plastic thixotropic material to an assembly support. A plurality of essentially parallel adjacent wires are fixed to the base layer. A cover layer of plastic material is applied onto the base layer. The cover layer is subsequently treated so that the plastic material envelops the wires, adheres to the base layer and changes to a more solid consistency.
