  • Patent number: 6092783
Abstract: An electropneumatic pressure regulating valve has an electromagnet fastened, as an actuating drive, to a valve housing. At least one work connection and a deaeration connection in the valve housing are guided, respectively, to a work chamber and deaeration chamber arranged inside the valve housing. The work chamber and the deaeration chamber are separated from one another by a valve seat corresponding to a valve tappet as closing element. The valve tappet proceeds from the electromagnet and is movable longitudinally through the work chamber via a movable magnet armature of the electromagnet. To improve the deaeration behavior and to achieve a more precise control capability during deaeration, the valve tappet has a through-hole which is directed longitudinally proceeding from its lower disk face and which opens into a pressure-tight coil interior space within the electromagnet. The coil interior space is sealed against the work chamber by a seal which enables the longitudinal movability of the valve tappet.

  • Patent number: 5819788
Abstract: A base-plate distributing valve comprised of a valve body, a base-plate element and a valve element slidably disposed within a longitudinal bore of the valve body. Pressure medium line ports and pressure medium lines are contained within the valve body and the base-plate element. The base-plate element contains an opening into which the part of the valve body which contains the valve element may be inserted. Within the valve element are valves. A drive element controls the valve element which shifts position the position of the valves within the longitudinal bore of the valve body to permit alignment of the pressure medium lines for flow therethrough. Accordingly, when the valve body is inserted into the base-plate element in a pressure-medium-tight seal, a substantially straight-lined flow of a medium through the base-plate element at a high flow rate is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5246237
Abstract: A seal for a work cylinder operated with pressure fluid, through which cylinder an axially displaceable coupling element connected with the work cylinder, particularly a pull means, is extended in a fluid-tight manner from the inside of the cylinder. To obtain a better sealing of the inside of the cylinder under all possible operating conditions, particularly when using coupling elements developed as pull means of a cross-sectional shape other than circular, the seal is comprised of a single cup-shaped piece, the bottom surface of the seal being provided with a cuff which tapers conically in axial direction towards the cup-shaped inside of the seal. The cuff is provided with a sealing opening which permits the passage of the coupling element therethrough. The seal is provided with a sealing ring on the outer periphery in the region of the open end.

  • Patent number: 5168898
Abstract: A valve apparatus which contains two valve bodies oriented behind one another on a tappet. The first valve body, together with a first valve seat, forms a first valve and the second valve body, together with a second valve seat, forms a second valve. With two valve bodies rigidly connected to one another, it is possible, such as on account of manufacturing tolerances, that when the two valves are closed, one of the two valve bodies will not seat exactly on its corresponding valve seat, which means that leaks can occur. The present invention provides for at least one of the two valve seats or at least one of the two valve bodies being adjustable in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tappet in relation either to the other valve seat or in relation to the other valve body to change the distance between the two valve seats or to change the distance between the two valve bodies.

  • Patent number: 4680436
Abstract: A contactless proximity switch and mounting arrangement for determining the position of a movable member within a cylinder which has two end covers secured on the cylinder by means of a plurality of tie rods, includes a switch housing which secures to one of the tie rods. A contact opening formed in the switch housing has disposed therein, a switch having a pair of contacts and a permanent magnet disposed in a fixed manner. One pole of the permanent magnet is connected to a first contact, while the second pole is disposed in a contacting relation to the cylinder. A second contact is electrically coupled to the cylinder at a position a predetermined distance from where the second pole is disposed. As the movable member, which is constructed of a ferromagnetic material, nears the switch housing, the air gap between the second contact and second pole is bridged and the contacts close indicating the proximity of the movable member to the switch element.

  • Patent number: 4656457
Abstract: A position-sensing potentiometer arrangement for sensing the position of a movable piston and piston rod configuration within a linear actuator includes a first support member extending longitudinally within an open-ended recess formed in the rod and a sliding contact mounted thereon. A tubular support is mounted to a stationary closed end of the linear actuator and extends into the recess to surround a portion of the first support member and a center support member which is also mounted on the closed end of the a actuator. A longitudinally-extending resistance element and a parallel conductor element are mounted on and supported by the center support member. As the first support member moves through the tubular support, the sliding contacts couple the resistance element to the conductor element to provide a resistance value variable as a function of the position of the piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4627597
Abstract: This invention relates to an activation apparatus for valves, specifically electromagnetically-activated multiway valves. The activation apparatus exhibits an activation element having a first stop and a second stop, which are arranged in facing-relation to one another, and to a housing projection formed by a graduated opening leading into the valve, so that a movement of the activation element, in the direction of its longitudinal axis, is limited or prevented. On the circumference of the activation element, there is a sealing element which is in sealed contact against the wall of the housing recess or graduated opening, which holds the activation element. The two stops and the sealing element are permanently connected with the activation element so as to form essentially a single-body construction.
