Abstract: A safety cabinet has a plurality of walls defining a front open side and a pair of doors pivotal about respective horizontally spaced axes on the walls between a closed and an open position. Guides in the cabinet are each associated with a respective one of the doors, and respective links each have a front end connected to a respective one of the doors and a rear end shiftable front-to-back in a respective one of the guides. A connector extends between the rear ends of the links and shifts front-to-back with them. A closer is operatively engageable with the connector, and a spring applies bears on the closer to urge it against the connector for pushing same into the rear end position and closing the doors. An actuator normally holds the closer out of engagement with the connector during movement of same between the front and rear end positions.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for treating vapours and condensates which arise during the production of polycondensates from bisphenols or high-value phenols by esterification and/or transesterification with alkyl or aryl esters of at least bivalent organic or inorganic acids. According to the invention, the treatment is carried out in a plurality of condensates and/or distillation columns which are connected in a step-by-step manner behind each other, each distillation column comprising a connected condensate. The dew point and the pressure in each condensate are adjusted such that in each step, monomers, oligomers or decomposition and transformation products are removed.

Abstract: Compositions comprising as components A) at least one bisazo compound selected from the group consisting of the compounds of the general formula Ia  and of the general formula Ib  where R1 is C1-C8-alkyl, R2 is C2-C8-alkyl, R3 and R3′ are each C2-C21-alkyl in which up to four CH2 groups of the carbon chain may be replaced by oxygen in ether function, R4 is hydrogen or is R3 (independently of R3), R4′ is hydrogen or is R3′ (independently of R3′), B) at least one solvent in which said component A) is soluble, and optionally C) at least one surface-active substance, are useful as dye penetrants for detecting surface cracks or other defects in workpieces to be tested in this respect.

Abstract: A video recorder system including a video recorder having an output and a plurality of operating elements which can be operated by an operator according to a desired mode of operation as outlined in operating instructions for recording a video signal and playing back the video signals via the output. The video recorder also includes means coupled to the output for storing video and audio representations of the operating instructions and for selectively applying the representations to the output. The system additionally includes a television playback device connected to the output of the recorder for receiving and utilizing the representations, in addition to the video signals, for establishing a dialog between the operator and the video recorder for the purpose of operating, programming and monitoring said recorder.
