  • Patent number: 9752508
Abstract: Air Turbine Starters (ATSs) having oil feed shutoff valves are provided, as are gas turbine engines including ATSs. In one embodiment, the ATS includes an ATS housing assembly containing a sump chamber, an oil inlet, and a valve cavity. A rejected oil return passage is further formed in the ATS housing assembly and fluidly coupled to the valve cavity. An oil feed shutoff valve is positioned in the valve cavity and contains a valve element movable between open and closed positions. In the open position, the valve element permits oil flow from the oil inlet, through the valve cavity, and into the sump chamber. In the closed position, valve element blocks oil flow from the oil inlet into the sump chamber, while redirecting the oil flow into rejected oil return passage to reduce the loss of engine oil through the ATS in the event of an ATS housing breach.

  • Patent number: 9683447
Abstract: Components resistant to traveling wave vibration and methods for manufacturing the same are provided. The component comprises a component body and a plurality of features disposed thereabout according to an asymmetry pattern that separates a pair of repeated eigenvalues associated with a targeted mode that deflects in excess of a threshold deflection limit in response to traveling wave excitation. The method comprises identifying, in a model of a rotationally periodic component, one or more modes thereof that deflect in excess of a threshold deflection limit in response to a traveling wave excitation. Each of the modes has a pair of repeated eigenvalues associated therewith. An asymmetry pattern is determined that separates each pair of repeated eigenvalues by a desired frequency split. A plurality of features are formed and disposed according to the asymmetry pattern about the component body defining an asymmetrical component comprising the component resistant to traveling wave vibration.

  • Patent number: 6481813
Abstract: A fastening arrangement used for fastening a rear-side wall element of a drawer to a sliding drawer bottom. The arrangement includes a connection element and a wall element which is fixed on the sliding bottom, and a connection element which can be mounted on the sliding bottom and connected with a pull-out slide. The wall element is pivotally connected on the sliding bottom. A catch device formed on the connection element holds the wall element in a mounting position. Preferably, an attachment on the connection element has a recess and a stop for the wall element. This construction simplifies the mounting of a drawer and reduces the manufacturing, costs because only a small number of components are required.

  • Patent number: 6474761
Abstract: A mounting unit used for fastening a drawer to a pull-out slide formed of several rails which are displaceably disposed with respect to one another. The mounting unit has several connection elements, each having horizontally extending upper supporting edge which can be connected, at least partially, with an upper edge of an upper rail of the pull-out slide. Each connecting element also includes a downward extending center section and a horizontally extending bottom section on which the sliding bottom is at least partially held. This approximately Z-shaped construction distributes stress well, and reduces costs of manufacture because the connection elements are identical and can be used for the right and left side of a drawer.

  • Patent number: 6457791
Abstract: A fastening arrangement, particularly for front panels of drawers, has a fastening element which can be fastened on a rail of a pull-out slide, and a holding part which can be connected with a front panel. The holding part is prefixed relative to the fastening element such that an adjustment of the holding part with respect to the fastening element can be made into a first horizontal or vertical direction. The holding part is held on the fastening element by the prefixing in an original or adjusted position and can also be locked in a desired position. In addition, the holding part is held relative to the fastening element to be prefixed and adjustable into a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. For the prefixing, the fastening arrangement has a snap-type device, a catch device and an eccentric device.

  • Patent number: 6454371
Abstract: A pull-out slide is used for fastening a drawer sliding bottom on a side wall of a stationary furniture body. The set has a carrying rail which can be connected with a holding part. The holding part can be fixedly connected with a furniture body. In addition, the set includes at least one slide rail which can slide with respect to the carrying rail, and which can be connected with the drawer sliding bottom. The carrying rail can be locked by a releasable locking mechanism on the holding part, in order to restrict movement in the direction of the carrying rail. The locking mechanism can lock the carrying rail onto the holding part, either in a first direction and/or a second direction, each direction being perpendicular to the carrying rail. Unlocking of the locking mechanism permits removal of the carrying rail and drawer sliding bottom as a unit from the holding part. The pull-out slide set with the sliding bottom is easily and rapidly mounted and demounted.

  • Patent number: 6412893
Abstract: A fastening arrangement for side walls of drawers, including several fastening elements connectable with a rail of a pull-out slide. Each fastening element provided with a holding part which extends essentially parallel to a side wall of the drawer. At least two receiving devices provided on each holding part for fastening side walls elements of the drawer to the fastening elements on the rail. The receiving devices are situated on opposite sides of the holding device. This construction permits varied configurations and designs, and allows one to adapt to the respective size and mechanical load of the drawer. The receiving devices are preferably formed between a project and an arm on the holding part, so that the side wall elements of the drawer can be clamped into the receiving devices.

  • Patent number: 6374211
Abstract: A method and a circuit arrangement for automatic voice activity detection on the basis of the wavelet transformation. A voice activity detection circuit or module (5) is used to control a speech encoder (9) and a speech decoder (22), as well as a background noise encoder (10) and a background noise decoder (23) in order to perform source-controlled reduction of the mean transmission rate. After segmenting a speech signal, a wavelet transformation is computed for each frame, from which a set of parameters is determined, from which in turn a set of binary decision variables is calculated with the help of fixed thresholds in an arithmetic circuit (32). The decision variables control a decision logic circuit (42), whose result, after time smoothing in a time smoothing circuit (44), provides the statement “speech present/no speech” for each frame.

  • Patent number: 6357844
Abstract: A partitioning system, particularly for drawers (1), comprises two lateral side wall elements (5, 6, 8, 12) arranged on a drawer bottom, between which a space is provided; a positionable separating wall (10) extending between the wall elements (5, 6, 8, 12); and devices for fixing the separating wall (10) between the wall elements (5, 6, 8, 12) at a desired position. The separating wall (10) is held in a first lifted position displaceable between the wall elements (5, 6, 8, 12) in order to be able to align it inside the drawer (1) into the desired position. When the positionable separating wall (10) is moved into a second lowered position between the wall elements (5, 6, 8, 12), the positionable separating wall is held in a fixed manner and is no longer displaceable.
