  • Patent number: 6462473
Abstract: A plasma picture screen is provided with a front plate, which comprises a glass plate on which a dielectric layer and a protective layer are provided, with a carrier plate provided with a phosphor layer comprising a red and a blue phosphor as well as a green, Tb3+-activated phosphor, with a ribbed structure that subdivides the space between the front plate and the carrier plate into plasma cells filled with a gas comprising xenon, and with one or several electrode arrays on the front plate and the carrier plate for generating corona discharges in the plasma cells. The gas comprises xenon in a proportion of between 5 and 30% by volume.

  • Publication number: 20020047592
Abstract: The invention relates to an AC plasma display panel (12) of the surface discharge type, and more specifically to the structure of the address electrodes (5) of said panel, and to a method of driving said panel. According to the invention, only one address electrode (5) is used for one out of every two columns. Scan (8) and common (7) electrodes may comprise transparent parts (11). These parts (11) may extend over one out every two cells, in a checkerboard fashion. In a preferred embodiment as shown in FIG. 7, the columns may have alternating wide (15) and narrow (16) cells (2). In the driving method according to the invention, all rows are addressed during an addressing phase, and subsequently all rows are simultaneously sustained during a sustain phase.

  • Publication number: 20020047520
Abstract: The invention relates to a plasma picture screen with an improved color saturation and an improved color constancy. This is achieved through the use of Tb3+-activated phosphors and a gas mixture with an increased xenon content.

  • Patent number: 6086252
Abstract: An X-ray image intensifier (1) includes an entrance screen (2) with a photocathode (3). A television camera (15) is optically coupled to the exit window (12) of the X-ray image intensifier. The X-ray image intensifier with the television camera derives a primary image signal form an X-ray image on the entrance screen. The X-ray image intensifier is provided with a radiation source (4), such as flashlights or LEDs, for irradiating the photocathode (3). Irradiation of the photocathode produces a light intensity distribution on the exit window wherefrom the television camera derives a control signal. Correction numbers are derived from the signal levels of the control signal. These correction numbers are employed for correcting the primary image signal.
