  • Patent number: 11970364
Abstract: A passenger transport system having a conveyor belt is described. The passenger transport system comprises at least one handrail and a fastening device for a protective device in the region of the handrail end curve. A control unit blocks the operation of the passenger transport system in one direction of travel on the basis of a sensor signal, such that, if there is at least one protective device in the region of the handrail end curve, the direction of travel in which the handrail runs into the protective device is blocked. A method for controlling a bidirectional passenger transport system is also described.

  • Patent number: 11945686
Abstract: The disclosure relates to monitoring a state of a physical passenger transport system. In an aspect, monitoring includes use of an updated digital double dataset that reproduces characterizing properties of components of the physical passenger transport system in an actual configuration of the passenger transport system after assembly and installation thereof in a building, in a machine-processable manner. At least one detection device is arranged in the physical passenger transport system, which detects a load profile which is transmitted to the updated digital double dataset. A set of rules is used to convert the load profile into modified characterizing properties of virtual components. Through the monitoring, changes and change trends on the components are tracked and evaluated using the updated digital double dataset by calculations and/or by static and dynamic simulations.

  • Patent number: 6988607
Abstract: Sensing equipment for monitoring the space in front of escalators for the control of the drive has sensors arranged in handrail inlet caps of the escalator balustrades. Each sensor consists of a transmitter and a receiver and operates with high-frequency waves. The sensors monitor the access to the escalator in a specific region in front of the entry to the escalator, for example the region of the entrance plate. On entry into the monitoring region of a sensor the high-frequency waves emitted by the transmitter are reflected by the person or object and picked up by the associated receiver and the escalator drive is switched on.

  • Patent number: 6896119
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for stopping conveying equipment for persons of the type that includes a drive motor, a frequency converter for controlling motor operation, and a holding brake. On activation of a safety element a the frequency converter decreases the speed of the drive motor according to a pre-established braking ramp, the holding brake being activated before standstill of the conveying equipment. Operational safety of the braking system is thus increased.
