  • Patent number: 4265008
Abstract: A tool engageable in a driving device is used for inserting and setting self-drilling dowels of the type consisting of a drill member and a spreader member. The tool is formed of an integral transmission member and plunger and an engaging member laterally encircling the plunger. The transmission member-plunger is axially displaceable relative to the engaging member. Percussive and rotative forces generated in the driving device are transferred into the transmission member-plunger. Projections are formed on the transmission member and engage surfaces on the engaging member for selectively transmitting one or both of the percussive and rotative forces to the drill member. Further, by axially displacing the transmission member-plunger relative to the engaging member, the spreader member can be driven into the drill member for setting or anchoring it within the borehole formed in the receiving material by the drill member.

  • Patent number: 4256422
Abstract: In a drilling machine, a rod-like stop member is mounted on the machine housing for limiting the extent to which a tool held in the machine can drill into a receiving surface. A handle lever, fitted on the housing, releasably locks the stop member in the desired position. The handle lever is pivotally mounted on the housing and has a specially shaped end surface which, in cooperation with a pressure plate, affords the locking engagement with the stop member. The locking engagement is provided by corrugated surfaces on the pressure plate and the stop member. The specially shaped end surface assures that the locked engagement cannot be released until a form-locking engagement between the pressure plate and stop member is overcome.

  • Patent number: 4171083
Abstract: A drilling and driving device provides, in combination, a drilling tool for drilling a borehole and a percussion attachment for driving fastening elements into the borehole. The drilling device includes a housing into which a drilling tool can be inserted. The percussion attachment is pivotally mounted on the housing so that it can be positioned over the drilling tool for driving the fastening element or it can be pivotally displaced so that the drilling tool can be used. In its displaced position, the percussion attachment can be loaded with a fastening element from a magazine located on the housing.

  • Patent number: 4113404
Abstract: A depth stop is mounted on the casing of a drilling machine and includes a clamping lever with a bore through which an elongated rod extends. The rod acts as the stop. Lugs attached to the casing pivotally support the clamping lever. The lever has a clamping surface which engages the surface of the casing in the clamped position. The clamping surface extends circumferentially of the axis of the bore in the lever and is arranged eccentrically relative to the axis.

  • Patent number: 4088054
Abstract: An impact dowel for insertion into a prepared bore hole in receiving material consists of an axially extending expansion sleeve and a spreading element insertable into the bore in the sleeve. The expansion sleeve and spreading element each have a first end and an oppositely directed second end with the first end being inserted first into the bore hole. The bore in the expanding sleeve has a pair of axially spaced restrictions which limit the axial displacement of the spreading element through the bore. The second end of the sleeve has an outwardly directed shoulder and a connecting section adjacent to the shoulder. The connecting section absorbs substantially only tensile forces.
