  • Patent number: 10873188
Abstract: A distributed energy resource management system utilizes capacity on a distribution grid to host further distributed energy resource interconnections. In an embodiment, the system utilizes a data store including operational values associated with distributed electric resources on an electric power distribution network and a processor or processors coupled to the data store and in communication with the distributed electric resources. The computer processors are programmed, upon receiving one or more requests, to create 3-phase AC power flows for each location across the electric power distribution network. Optimizations of the 3-phase AC power flows to are used to calculate hosting capacity for each of the locations, for each of a plurality of time intervals, and each of a plurality of types of distributed energy resource, as a dynamic quantity that can change depending on time, day, season, and location.

  • Publication number: 20200043106
Abstract: A system is disclosed which integrates physical system conditions and multiple DER ownership models, and provides a bridge between DSM and wholesale/utility supply and demand to operate a market which sites and utilizes assets optimally. The DSM is technology agnostic, subject to business rules, and is focused on generating reductions in just and reasonable grid costs by assigning value based on granular location- and time-specific valuations.

  • Patent number: 4359656
Abstract: Bus strips of steel or brass, rivetted where necessary to the brush holder and to a flat plate member integral therewith serve to connect the terminals of the voltage regulator mounted on the flat plate to the brush holder and to terminals for positive and negative voltage, the exicitor winding of a generator and the D+ and D- terminals. The bus strips are soldered or welded to the terminals they connect so as to provide reliable connections for the life of the device. The negative terminal connection includes a bushing in a mounting eye of the flat plate and the positive terminal is provided as a pressure contact.
