  • Patent number: 4852533
Abstract: In the case of a shearing element that can be used as an engine mounting in a motor vehicle, an elastic damping body that is developed in the way of a rubber--metal mounting and a shearing unit are provided in a mechanical parallel connection for supporting the engine at the body. It is their purpose to avoid, in the natural-vibration range of the mounting--mass system, an excessive increase of the amplitudes in the case of a resonance.

    Assignee: Daimler-Benz Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Francis Doncker, Rolf Helber, Gerhard Welzel, Richard Bung
  • Patent number: 4654396
Abstract: A dispersion, having highly dilatant flow, of a carboxyl-containing copolymer of monoolefinically unsaturated monomers, wherein the temperature dependence of the critical shearing rate is greatly reduced by incorporation of from 0.1 to 30% by weight of oxides, hydroxides, carbonates and/or water soluble salts of monovalent or divalent metals.

  • Patent number: 4534720
Abstract: An apparatus for the preparation of bonding fibers, especially for the production of nonwovens by a wet-lay process, wherein a polymer dispersion, containing an anionic or nonionic dispersant, and an aqueous solution, containing a dissolved cationic precipitant, are combined to cause fiber formation from precipitated polymer particles, which apparatus includes a feed funnel spaced above the bottom of a homogenization vessel with both a nozzle for introducing the polymer dispersion and a metering device for the precipitant, which are so arranged and aimed into the funnel that in co-operation with a stirrer a vortex is produced in a column of liquid in the feed funnel, and fibers are formed and broken up while passing through a turbulence chamber, located at the bottom of the funnel, and a gap into a homogenization chamber.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 1982
Date of Patent: August 13, 1985

Inventors: Richard Bung, Karl Gans, Gerold Schreyer, Gerhard Welzel
  • Patent number: 4485055
Abstract: A process for the repeatable production of shaped particles of various geometries from polymer dispersions, melts or solutions, wherein first particles are expelled by means of a rotating disk and are introduced while still liquid, in a radially outward direction, into a liquid precipitant or fixant film and the particles are thereby coagulated or fixed and also given an additional structure and are transported away from the point of introduction.

  • Patent number: 4371636
Abstract: A process for the preparation of copolymer dispersions having a narrow particle size distribution, and exhibiting dilatant flow over a broad range of concentrations, by emulsion copolymerization of from 1 to 10% by weight, based on total monomers, of .alpha.,.beta.
    Type: Grant

Inventors: Dieter Distler, Hans Wolf, Gerhard Welzel
  • Patent number: 4224421
Abstract: Water-soluble, crosslinked nitrogen-containing condensation products, the viscosity of which, in aqueous solution, increases with increasing temperature, are obtained by reacting a block copolymer of the formula: ##STR1## x is from 50 to 250, y is from 20 to 100, the ratio of x to y is from 6.5:1 to 1:15, with compounds having at least four basic NH groups in a weight ratio of from 0.8:1 to 30:1. The products are added to aqueous systems, e.g. polymer solutions and polymer dispersions, to improve the viscosity characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4128511
Abstract: Water-soluble, crosslinked nitrogen-containing condensation products, the viscosity of which, in aqueous solution, increases with increasing temperature, are obtained by reacting a chlorohydrin-ether of the formula ##STR1## where x is from 50 to 250, y is from 20 to 100, the ratio x:y is from 6.1:1 to 1:15 and n is from 0.5 to 5, with ethyleneimine in the weight ratio of from 1:10.1 to 1:0.8; the condensation products are added to aqueous systems, e.g. polymer solutions and polymer dispersions, to improve the viscosity characteristics.
