  • Patent number: 4767175
Abstract: A device for transmitting light signals between two structural members rotating relative to one another about an axis of rotation, one of these members bearing a light emitter, preferably a light conductor, and the other bearing a photoelectric transducer placed opposite the light emitter so as to leave a gap therebetween, the transducer converting the light signals received into electrical signals. The light emitter emits light through an emission opening provided at a predetermined distance from the axis of rotation. An annular photoelectric transducer which is centered relative to the axis of rotation is located opposite the emission opening and is irradiated by the light emerging therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4741230
Abstract: An apparatus for facing and internal turning, comprising a rotating housing and at least one carriage bearing a cutting tool and being displaceable transversely to the axis of rotation, has a drive motor in the rotating housing for displacement of the carriage and a distance measurement mechanism for directly measuring the distance of displacement of the carriage in relation to the housing, measurement and supply lines hereby extending between rotating housing and a stationary evaluation and control unit and the measurement signals and energy supply being transferred at a transfer unit from those parts of the measurement and supply lines communicating with the rotating housing to those parts of those lines communicating with the stationary evaluation and control unit.

  • Patent number: 4328722
Abstract: Apparatus for facing and internal turning includes a rotatable shaft and a turning head fixed for rotation with the shaft. A tool carriage for carrying a cutting tool is displaceable on the turning head transversely to the axis of rotation thereof. The transverse displacement of the carriage is effected by way of two planetary gear units lying in planes at right angles to the axis of rotation of the shaft. The sun gear of the first unit is fixed for rotation with the shaft, whilst the sun gear of the second unit, which acts as a driving gear for the tool carriage, is rotatable relative to the shaft. A further ring gear is disposed coaxially with said gear units and engages a gear connected for rotation with the planet gear of the second unit. Fastening means selectively lock said further ring gear against rotation whereby the sun gear of the second unit is rotated relative to the shaft and effects transverse displacement of the tool carriage.

  • Patent number: 4300271
Abstract: A clamping device for a sliding mount, particularly a dove-tail mount, in which a guide projecting from a slide clock is slidably mounted in a guide groove of a guide body. The clamping device includes a slot in the guide body extending parallel to the guide groove and defining a clamping part between the slot and the groove which can be pressed against the guide. A cavity, in which a bolt is located, is provided in the guide body such that the upper end of the bolt is within the unslotted part of the guide body and the lower end of the bolt is adjacent said clamping part. A clamping screw extends within a threaded bore in the body and is arranged to displace the bolt such that the lower end of the bolt presses against the clamping part whereby the slide block is clamped relative to the groove.

  • Patent number: 4101239
Abstract: A blade-type boring tool having a body on an end of which is mounted a pair of separate and individually adjustable cutters. The cutters are preferably cutting inserts fastened on the side of holders having a mounting surface provided with V-shaped grooves mating a mounting surface on the end of the body provided with corresponding V-shaped grooves. Each holder is held in position on the end of the body by means of a mounting bolt or screw threading in an orientable retainer disposed in a transverse bore in the boring tool body.

  • Patent number: 4043696
Abstract: A boring tool has a cutter mounted on a holder adjustable relative to the boring tool body. Adjustment of the cutter holder is effected by displaceable wedging surfaces in engagement with each other, one of such wedging surfaces being provided on the cutter holder and the other being provided on an adjustably displaceable wedge piece, the cutter holder body being substantially cylindrical but prevented from rotating by the wedge piece having a plane surface in engagement with a plane surface of the cutter holder.
