  • Publication number: 20120304689
Abstract: A method is provided for separating a cleaned useful gas from a gas mixture substantially containing carbon dioxide, at least one useful gas, and at least one hazardous substance. The carbon dioxide is condensed, and the liquid carbon dioxide that is enriched with the hazardous substance is separated from the useful gas. The hazardous material is then separated from the liquid carbon dioxide by adsorption, and one part of the cleaned liquid carbon dioxide is fed into the useful gas to absorb hazardous substances still contained in the useful gas.

  • Publication number: 20120126178
Abstract: A method for converting carbon monoxide and water into carbon dioxide and hydrogen, with simultaneous removal of one or more products, is described. The method includes the following steps: in a first reactor, carbon monoxide from the gas phase is bound in a first solvent and converted into formate, in a third reactor, formate is decomposed and resultant hydrogen H2 is removed, and in a second reactor a solid which is a hydrogen-carbonate salt or a carbonate salt is removed. The thermal decomposition of the solid and the expulsion of the carbon dioxide are carried out in an additional fourth reactor, optionally in a second solvent. Further presented is an apparatus for converting carbon monoxide and water into carbon dioxide and hydrogen, including a fourth reactor which thermally decomposes solids formed in the course of the reaction, and gives off carbon dioxide.

  • Patent number: 8020388
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for increasing the efficiency of a combined gas/steam power station (10) with integrated gasification combined cycle. Said power station comprises a gas turbine compressor (14) and an air-separation unit (18) having a defined working pressure. Compressed air is removed from the gas turbine compressor (14) at a pressure level that is adapted to the working pressure of the air-separation unit (18). The removed air is then supplied to the air-separation unit (18) where the air is broken down into its individual constituents, especially oxygen and nitrogen. The nitrogen produced in the air-separation unit (18) is removed from the air-separation unit and at least a part of the removed nitrogen quantity is used as a coolant in the gas/steam power station in order to improve its efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20110093424
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that provide a Heat Flow Model (HFM) graph modeling methodology. Embodiments automatically translate formal HVAC system descriptions from a Building Information Model (BIM) into HFM graphs, and compile the graphs into executable FDD systems. During an engineering phase, a user interface is used to enter parameters, conditions, and switches not found in the BIM. During a runtime phase, real-time data from an HVAC control system is input to the generated FDD system (HFM graph) for fault detection and diagnosis.

Abstract: A method for operating a power plant with in integrated gasification device is provided. A fossil fuel is gasified and is fed as syngas to a burner associated with a gas turbine for combustion purposes. Oxygen is separated from air by a membrane at a process temperature such that oxygen-depleted air is formed. The separated oxygen is fed to the gasification device in order to react with the fossil fuel, and heating energy is fed to the membrane to maintain the required process temperature. The heating energy is recovered in part from the syngas and in part from the oxygen and/or the oxygen-depleted air in heat exchange with the air, and the heated air is fed to the membrane.

  • Patent number: 7059838
Abstract: A control device for a positive displacement pump includes a throttle device and a flow control valve. The flow control valve includes a flow control piston and is configured to regulate an unrequired excess flow of the pump at an increased speed. The throttle device is configured to produce a speed-related pressure differential in a bore section, the pressure differential being responsible for the displacement of the flow control valve and the throttle device. The throttle device is arranged in the pressure outlet (bore section) of the pump and includes a regulating pin connected to the flow control piston, having a control contour configured so that a modifiable through cross-section is created in association with a throttle bore. The control pin has a wider section in an axial displacement area of the throttle device, the area not being involved in control of the volume flow, whereby a minimum obturating section arises in the displacement area.

  • Patent number: 5849176
Abstract: The invention relates to the protection of tubular reactors or heat exchangers against coke formation in plants for converting hydrocarbons and other organic compounds at high temperatures in the gaseous phase. The problem in such plants is that the usual steam/air cleaning processes for removing coke deposits lead to an increase in the catalytic activity of the material surfaces, which in turn shortens the service life of the plants. The object of the invention is to substantially reduce coking and to maintain the long-term passivity of steels for long operational periods.

  • Patent number: 5681068
Abstract: A motor-vehicle door latch having an element settable in locked, unlocked, and open positions, has an actuating assembly having a pivot defining a pivot axis remote from the latch. An inside locking lever mounted on the pivot has an outer end to one side of the pivot and an inner end to the opposite side of the pivot and a bowden cable is connected between the outer end and the latch element and connects the latch element with the inside lever for joint pivoting between the locked, unlocked, and open positions. An inside actuating lever is mounted on the pivot coaxial with the locking lever. A coupling between the levers is displaceable between a coupling position for displacing the locking lever and bowden cable and thereby setting the element in the open position on pivoting of the actuating lever and a decoupling position for pivoting of the actuating lever without pivoting of the locking lever.
