  • Patent number: 4558092
Abstract: An aqueous plastics dispersion is manufactured by copolymerization of several olefinically unsaturated monomers, one of them at least being free from amide and sulfo groups, one of them at least having an amide group and one of them at least having a sulfo group. Copolymerization is carried out in an aqueous medium under usual conditions. The resulting copolymer has a second order transition temperature of 20.degree. C. at most. The plastics dispersion is compatible with cement and serves as additive in cement-containing building materials.

  • Patent number: 4009135
Abstract: The properties of mortar and concrete are improved by the addition to the fresh mortar or concrete of an aqueous dispersion of a plastic obtained by the emulsion polymerization of olefinically unsaturated monomers, and of a polycondensate of formaldehyde and an amino-s-triazine modified with sulfite or sulfonic acid. A well-balanced relation between the compressive strength, the tensile strength in bending, and the adhesion to aged and hardened mortar or concrete is thus obtained.
