  • Patent number: 11285057
Abstract: A retractor restraint system is provided for securing wheelchairs and/or people in vehicles. The system includes a housing, a retractor reel mounted to the housing rotatably in a positive and a negative direction of rotation for receiving a belt which can be coupled to a wheelchair, an arresting unit for arresting the reel to prevent rotation in the negative direction of rotation in an operating state of the retractor restraint system, a clamping unit arranged at the housing for releasably clamping fast the belt unwound from the reel, and a triggering mechanism for actuation of the clamping unit. The triggering mechanism is coupled to the arresting unit and the reel in such a way that the clamping unit is actuated when a torque acts on the reel in the negative direction of rotation and the reel is arrested by the arresting unit.

  • Publication number: 20210253061
Abstract: A personal securing system for securing people in vehicles with reversibly mounted vehicle seats includes a seat detector adapted to monitor occupancy of the vehicle seat, at least one belt buckle adapted to be brought into engagement with a buckle tongue, a belt buckle detector on the belt buckle adapted to provide a signal when the belt buckle is in engagement with the buckle tongue, and a controller adapted to process the signals recorded by the seat detector and the belt buckle detector. The controller provides an alarm signal to an alarm device when, with a vehicle seat being occupied, the respective belt buckle is not in engagement with the buckle tongue. The controller has an autonomous power storage device electrically decoupled from the vehicle for providing a dedicated power supply for the controller, the seat detector, the belt buckle detector, and the alarm device.

  • Patent number: 9375369
Abstract: A vehicle lift for a load, such as a wheelchair. The whole lift is movable between a first retracted position and a second extended position comprising a support pillar, a platform, a lifting device, and a biasing element. The platform is connected pivotably to the support pillar and has a horizontal pivot axis such that the platform is pivotable about the horizontal axis. The lifting device is hingedly connected to the support pillar and is configured for lifting and lowering the support pillar with the platform between the retracted position and the extended position. The biasing device biases the platform in to the second extended position and acts upon the region of the hinged connection between the platform and the support pillar.

  • Publication number: 20140255138
Abstract: A ramp system for installation on a vehicle, and a vehicle for conveying wheelchair users. The ramp system includes an intermediate element having a longitudinal guide and a ride-on access plate. The ride-on access plate is moveable from a vertical transport position to a horizontal stowage position by pivoting about a movable axis. A guide pin coupled to the ride-on access plate is guided by the longitudinal guide of the intermediate element as the ride-on access plate is moved from the vertical position to the horizontal position. The ramp system further includes a guide strut that is pivotally mounted to the ride-on access plate and the intermediate element. The movement of the ride-on access plate between the vertical and horizontal positions is thereby controlled relative to the intermediate element by the longitudinal guide and guide strut.

  • Patent number: 8770645
Abstract: A backrest arrangement for installation in a motor vehicle for transporting wheelchair users, and a motor vehicle including the backrest arrangement. The backrest arrangement includes a fixing device that attaches the backrest arrangement to the roof of the motor vehicle. A backrest is mounted to the fixing device and is configured to support a wheelchair user. The backrest is rotatably mounted to the fixing device by a telescoping bar. The backrest may thereby be moved between a stowage position and a substantially extended operative position by rotating the backrest down from the stowage position and extending the telescoping bar. While in the stowage position, the backrest may be disposed completely in the roof region of the motor vehicle so that the backrest arrangement does not take up space in the passenger region.
