  • Patent number: 6443959
Abstract: A surgical extractor for use in laparascopy. It has a first hollow tube called “slide” and a second hollow tube called “pusher”, which is mounted in a sliding manner over the slide. The slide has a first open end, a second end and a long radial opening close to the second end. A set of flexible rods called “straps” extend in line with the pusher. Each strap has a first end fixed in a rigid manner to the pusher and a second end connected in a rigid manner to the slide close to the second end of the same. Handles are provided for applying a pressure onto the pusher so as to move it over a given stroke distance from a rest position to an opening position closer to the second end of the slide, such causing the straps to fold up and open like petals over the radial opening and thus to allow grasping in a radial direction of an organ to be extracted from the body of the patient.

  • Patent number: 6193730
Abstract: The surgical extractor has three distinct portions respectively called “body”, “gripper” and “pusher”. The body is rigid and rectilinear and has a first end from which an handle integrally projects perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis. The gripper consists of one or more flexible rods having first ends connected to the opposite end of the body in a foldable manner with respect to a transverse axis. The pusher is rigid and rectilinear and has a first end connected to the opposite ends of the straps and a second end provided with a pushing button. Hooks are provided for retaining in a slidable manner the pusher on top of the first end of the body opposite to the handle once the straps have been folded about the transverse axis in order to be positioned together with a pusher flat onto the body.

  • Patent number: 5658249
Abstract: Disclosed is a modular hand-held device for use with a suction irrigation electrosurgical tool having a rear inlet/outlet port provided with an electrically conductive surface. It has a rear handle member, a middle valve member and a front member. An electrical connection device is provided for supplying electrical energy to the electrically conductive surface when the rear inlet/outlet port of the suction irrigation electrosurgical tool is received into an inlet/outlet port of the front member. A first mechanical connector is provided for removably connecting front ports of the handle member respectively to the corresponding rear ports of the middle valve member, and a second mechanical connector is provided for removably connecting an inlet/outlet front port of the middle valve member to an inlet/outlet rear port of the front member. This device can be fully dismantled, thereby making it possible to clean and sterilize all its component for further uses.

  • Patent number: 5409487
Abstract: An auxiliary tubing probe for converting a monopolar electrosurgery probe having a main electrode at one end, into a bipolar electrosurgery probe. The auxiliary probe has an inner electrically insulated tube in which the monopolar electrosurgery probe is slidably inserted. An electric conductor extends externally over and along the inner insulated tube. An auxiliary electrode connected to the electric conductor projects forward away from the inner tube, in such a manner as to be adjacent to the main electrode when the monopolar electrosurgery probe has been inserted in the auxiliary probe. An outer electric insulator covers the electric conductor from the first extremity to the second extremity. The insertion of the auxiliary probe over the monopolar electrosurgery probe, and electricity going through the auxiliary electrosurgery probe and monopolar electrosurgery probe, allows conversion of the monopolar electrosurgery probe into a bipolar electrosurgery probe.
