  • Publication number: 20190047133
Abstract: A method for operating a clutch in a power tool having an electric motor having an open-loop and closed-loop control device for closed-loop and open-loop control of motor power of the tool, and having a sensor, wherein the tool is operable in a first or second operating mode; in the first mode, the clutch is actuated after a predetermined time if a predetermined rotational speed threshold is undershot, and in the second mode, the clutch is actuated if a first predetermined motor current threshold value is exceeded. The method comprises setting the second mode; measuring the current of the motor; and reducing the motor rotational speed from a first rotational speed value to a second rotational speed value if a second predetermined current threshold value is exceeded, wherein a torque that can be generated by the tool is increased from a first torque value to a second torque value.

  • Patent number: 9126321
Abstract: A machine tool has a tool retainer for retaining a tool, a motor and a drivetrain which couples the motor with the tool retainer for transmitting a torque. A system pushbutton is coupled with a motor control. When the system pushbutton is activated by a user, the motor control controls the motor in such a way that the motor turns in a first sense of rotation for a duration and then in a sense of rotation opposed to the first sense of rotation. The duration is shorter than 100 ms.

  • Patent number: 8333251
Abstract: A pneumatically striking hand-held power tool is controlled by the following steps. An acceleration (a) along a striking axis (8) of the hand-held power tool (1) is detected. A driving power is reduced if the detected acceleration (a) is greater than a threshold value (A), the threshold value (A) being selected to be greater than maximum acceleration values (a1, a2) that occur on a workpiece during the striking operation of the hand-held power tool (1).

  • Patent number: 7791297
Abstract: A method for controlling a motor (2) which drives a disk-shaped tool (4) of a power tool (1) and to which a motor voltage in the amount of a nominal value is applied in an “on” position of a motor switch (6), includes determination of an actual motor current (IM) applied to the motor (2) and comparing it to a first predetermined threshold (GW1), and automatically triggering of a control process for protecting the motor (2) when an overload condition which is defined in that the first predetermined threshold (GW1) is exceeded beyond a first predetermined limiting time period (grDt1), is met, the control process including reduction of the motor voltage applied to the motor (2) by a magnitude that can be perceived by the user as a choke value.

  • Patent number: 7750587
Abstract: The method of controlling a motor which drives a tool of a power tool, includes initializing an electronic device and switching the motor on in a first step (31), continuously monitoring of the motor current (IM) and a battery voltage (UB) in a second step (32) which alternates with a third step (33) in which a continuous comparison of the battery voltage (UB) to a threshold value (GW) stored in a memory of the electronic device is carried out.
