  • Publication number: 20040147945
Abstract: A surgical ultrasonic instrument has a housing with an ultrasonic transducer, with a shaft being connected to the housing with an application arrangement being provided at its distal end. The application arrangement includes a working element driven in an oscillating manner by the ultrasonic transducer and a fixed position working element between which a working space is formed for the reception of tissue.

  • Patent number: 6210411
Abstract: A high frequency surgical instrument which has at least one treatment electrode (11, 11′, 11″) which can be or is connected to a high frequency generator (12), which is at least partly fluid-permeable and to which a fluid, in particular a liquid, which counteracts the sticking of the biological tissue to the treatment electrode (11) can be or is fed in through at least one liquid infeed passage (13). At least the region (11, 11′, 11″) of the treatment electrode which is intended for the interaction with the biological tissue consists totally or partly of a liquid-permeable, porous, biologically compatible sinter material.

  • Patent number: 5971994
Abstract: The invention relates to a high frequency surgical instrument comprising a handling part (11) which has a guide channel (12) which is open at at least one end and a holding element (13) which is axially displaceably guided therein and on which a high frequency voltage acts. The holding element (13) is axially displaceable by means of an actuating part (14) axially displaceable relative to the handling part (11) and is electrically conductively connected at its free end to a preferably elastic cutting loop (15) in such a way that, through axial adjustment of the actuating part (14), the cutting loop (15) can be drawn to a greater or lesser degree into the guide channel (12), or into a tube (16) which continues it outwardly, or can be pushed out of the guide channel (12), or out of the tube (16) continuing it outwardly, whereby the loop size can be changed.

  • Patent number: 5925044
Abstract: A trocar for laparoscopic operations on patients has a tube and high frequency connections in the region of the front end of the tube which can be connected to a high frequency generator. A cutting bar is axially displaceable in the tube and can be fixed in a cutting position. The high frequency connections and electrosurgical cutting device connected to the latter are arranged at the front end of the cutting bar.

  • Patent number: 5766169
Abstract: A multifunctional instrument for performing endoscopic operations has an rator hand grip (11) and an instrument socket (12) on which an instrument body (13) with a multilumen tube (14) which can be guided through a trocar is mounted. The operator hand grip (11) extends transverse to the central axis (15) of the instrument body (13). The instrument body (13) is rotatable about the central longitudinal axis (15) relative to the instrument socket (12), which is fixedly connected to the operator hand grip (11), and securely holdable in the selected rotational position.

  • Patent number: 5542945
Abstract: An electro-surgical radio-frequency instrument is described for the coagulating and/or cutting of tissue with a shaft having a radio-frequency voltage connection. A working tip is arranged at the distal end of the shaft and has two electrodes which are connected or connectable to a radio-frequency voltage connection. The working tip is shaped as a hook or a spatula and comprises the two electrodes which are arranged next to one another, and an insulation layer which is arranged between them and which is connected to the electrodes so as to form a unit.

  • Patent number: 5441499
Abstract: The invention relates to a bipolar radio-frequency surgical instrument with a rigid tube shaft (11) and a working tip (12) which preferably has substantially the same cross-section as the adjoining part of the tube shaft (11) and is preferably centrally provided with at least one working electrode, such as a cutting electrode (13, 13") or a coagulating electrode (13') which can be energized with a radio-frequency voltage, and a neutral electrode (14) which preferably has a significantly larger surface. The working tip (12) is connected with the rigid tube shaft (11) near the distal end of the instrument in a hinged or flexible manner in such a way that the working tip (12) can be pivoted from a position which is axially aligned with the tube shaft (11) to a position which forms an angle relative to the tube shaft (11), and such that means (17, 18, 19) are provided to pivot and return the working tip (12).
