  • Patent number: 5063634
Abstract: In a floor nozzle for a vacuum cleaner the nozzle housing is provided with a substantially closed bottom, and it has in its upper housing portion a lockable opening, through which the suction chamber and the mechanical driving members of the cleaning means are accessible when the floor nozzle is in the operating position. The opening is locked by a cover which is hinged on the forward front face of the nozzle housing.

  • Patent number: 4996736
Abstract: On the bottom side of a vacuum cleaner there is arranged a flat spare part compartment extending substantially over the entire surface of the dust chamber for taking up operating instructions, replacement dust bags, fine filters and the like, which spare part compartment can be locked by a cover. The cover is suspended in the motor chamber zone by means of hinges and can be opened to an opening position of about 40.degree. or completely removed by pushing said cover beyond the opening position. In the handle region of the vacuum cleaner said cover has a key locking with a resilient tongue which engages in a clearance on the bottom side of the handle region. The cover is reinforced by ribs which extend onto the motor chamber side of the housing and which can serve as skids.

  • Patent number: 4847942
Abstract: The arrangement for switching on and off of a vacuum cleaner comprises a switch which is integrated in a printed circuit board disposed below the cover of the vacuum cleaner housing. In the cover there is formed a resilient tongue having an upwardly projecting handle portion so that a bowl-shaped cavity is created in the free end of the resilient tongue. The switch extends into said bowl-shaped cavity and is operated by means of the resilient tongue. The production and mounting of the arrangement for switching on and off of the vacuum cleaner require only low expenditure of labor.

  • Patent number: 4738474
Abstract: The pipe joint connection, in which one of the pipes to be connected is inserted into the other pipe, has a click-stop arrangement for maintaining the connection, which click-stop arrangement comprises two stop webs extending conically with respect to each other and being mounted on the outside of one pipe and two resilient tongues mounted on the outside of the other pipe. When the two pipes are being connected, the resilient tongues pass between the stop webs, whereby they are moved towards each other and, when being in the stop location, engage with the backsides of the stop webs.

  • Patent number: 4733429
Abstract: The motor 3 of the vacuum cleaner is surrounded by the elastomeric shroud 4, which is air-tightly joined to the blower 2. The blower 2 moves the drawn in air into the space defined by the shroud, which the air can only leave through the air outlet ports 13 formed in the wall of the shroud. Behind the air outlet ports 13 there is a filter 10, which cleans the air coming from the shroud. The air passes into the space between the shroud and the vacuum cleaner housing, where it is distributed and comes to rest. It passes through numerous air outlet ports 15 in the vacuum cleaner housing at a low speed.

  • Patent number: 4720890
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner handle comprising a connection member connected to a handle tube and a handle member by which the vacuum cleaner handle is held during use and may be moved along with only little effort. In the working position of the vacuum cleaner, this handle member includes a handle portion positioned at least partly disposed over the axis of a central handle tube and at an acute angle thereto. A cord drum is attached to the vacuum cleaner handle. A cord of the vacuum cleaner may be wound up in the cord drum simply and neatly without the cord drum placed under the vacuum cleaner handle interfering with the use of the vacuum cleaner.

  • Patent number: 4715084
Abstract: The hand vacuum cleaner comprises a fan arranged in a vacuum cleaner housing, and a dust collector. The handle of the vacuum cleaner is connectable with the housing. At the suction stub of the vacuum cleaner there may be attached an intermediate pipe which is to be connected with a suction tool. An intermediate pipe is provided which is detachably positioned between the vacuum cleaner housing and the handle. Locks are provided to attach this intermediate pipe to the vacuum cleaning housing and the handle, such having a clamp handle for releasing and tightening of the clamps.

  • Patent number: 4678486
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner housing possesses two guide means on the inner side of the end housing wall with a suction port therein in order to receive the board flange of a dust bag adjacent to the lateral housing wall. The guide means comprise guide rails each with a ramp-like wall, extending towards said housing wall, and guide ribs which are located in the lower part of the housing wall and have a slope opposite to that of the ramp-like walls. They are so shaped as to allow the board flange to be inserted between them and the walls. On introduction of such a board flange of a dust bag its lower end section is bent along a prepared line of bending, which has been formed in the lower part of the board flange parallel to its lower side. Accordingly the board flange is so firmly held in place that it is not bent by the suction force to which it is exposed.

  • Patent number: 4656688
Abstract: A housing for a hand vacuum cleaner having a front dust chamber and a rear motor chamber separated from each other by a baffle, a dust chamber cover linked at the baffle, and a tightly connected motor chamber cover. In the area adjacent to the motor chamber cover there is designed a handle hollow in the dust chamber cover. This handle hollow is partially covered by a handhold which may be arranged at the motor chamber cover as an integral part thereof. In another embodiment of the housing, the handhold is incorporated in the dust chamber cover. At the motor chamber cover there may be arranged a cross-piece projecting toward the dust chamber cover, covering the rear area of the handle hollow and supporting a cross-piece of the dust chamber cover, thus providing a particularly robust handhold.

  • Patent number: 4530128
Abstract: A motor driven cylindrical brush for a cleaning apparatus. The brush has bristles which lie in the zone outside a bearing section provided with a contact surface for a drive belt. Between the bristle filling and the bearing section, the brush member has recessed annular grooves. Via these grooves, it is possible to compensate for length changes of the brush member. These length changes occur when the brush filling is anchored in the brush member. By compensating for these length changes, the brush is very smooth running, and minimum bearing loading occurs.

  • Patent number: 4278522
Abstract: An electroflotation device for treating contaminated water includes cathode electrodes which are self-cleaning with respect to lime deposits. Each anode electrode of the device is associated with a pair of cathode electrodes. During operation of the device, a negative potential is applied to only one of the two electrodes of each cathode pair, while the other electrode has either a zero potential or a weak positive potential applied thereto. The lime deposit formed on the non-negative electrode is dissolved by the action of the carbonic acid which is present in the water, through the formation of bicarbonates.
