  • Patent number: 5050486
Abstract: In an air-conditioning system for vehicles, with a blower, evaporator, heat exchanger and air distributor box with air-outflow ports for at least one middle nozzle and for side nozzles, the air distributor box is connected directly by means of its inlet cross-section to the evaporator. The heat exchanger is arranged aproximately centrally in the air distributor box so as to subdivide the latter into a front and a rear space portion. An air-guide connection piece extends from the front space portion which leads to the middle nozzle and which is connected to the front space portion via a cold-air scoop flap and is in communication with the rear space portion via two bypass channels, in each of which a temperature control flap is arranged. Air-outflow ports for the side nozzles are arranged in the bypass channels. Thus, in the "maximum cooling" mode, cold air passes directly from the front space portion of the air distributor box into the middle and side nozzles and improves the cooling of the passenger space.

  • Patent number: 4771942
Abstract: In order to bring about, in the case of a crossflow heat exchanger with two heating sections which can be individually regulated through the heat transfer medium, a pipe routing adapted to the particular installation conditions in a motor vehicle, with minimum possible connections, the partition wall subdividing a central deflection header is provided with perforations further dividing both regions of the deviation zone for the heat transfer medium, for a purposeful routing of the heat transfer medium through integrated flow and return tubes from an outer deflection header to the respective opposite heating section. Only one flow pipe is connected to an outer deflection header and the two return pipes lead away from the same outer deflection header mutually separately for the heat transfer medium.

  • Patent number: 4563942
Abstract: A casing for an equipment part, both casing and part being accommodated in a space located between the engine compartment or boot and the splash wall of a motor vehicle, the portion of the casing surrounding the equipment part from below, or its connection to the remaining casing being designed to be movable, in such a way that, when the casing is installed or removed for maintenance, for example, the lower portion yields temporarily changing its shape and then assumes its initial shape again.
