    Abstract: The invention relates to novel ester lubricants which can be used in combination with a hydrocarbon base fluid. The ester lubricants are mixtures of esters based on a 2-alkyl-substituted propane diol-1,3, a trimethylol alkane (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4), optionally a C.sub.5 -C.sub.15 -ether diol and a mixture of C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 - and C.sub.12 -C.sub.18 -monocarboxylic acids.
