  • Patent number: 7245672
Abstract: A method and apparatus for phase-domain semi-coherent demodulator including a receiver for receiving at least a phase component of an input signal. The phase domain semi-coherent demodulator may include a decision unit for forming a decision based on a delayed reference signal and the phase component of the input signal. In addition the phase domain semi-coherent demodulator may include a phase sum adder for subtracting the decision from the phase component of the input signal to form a rotated input phase, a second phase sum adder for subtracting the delayed reference signal from the rotated input phase to form a resulting signal, and a scaler for scaling the resulting signal to form an update signal. A third phase sum adder adds the update signal to the delayed reference signal to form a reference signal.

  • Publication number: 20040028666
Abstract: New mixed cultures of two or more micro-organism strains are provided wherein at least one of said micro-organism strains which are comprised in said mixed culture is individually selected on the basis of its ability to perform part of an enzymatic pathway, and said two or more selected micro-organism strains together form a complete pathway towards a desired flavour component. Preferably, the mixed culture is a culture for the production of a fermented product, such as yogurt or cheese or sausage. Said two or more micro-organism strains are preferably co-cultivated. Particular and preferred embodiments are starter cultures for the manufacturing of cheese, comprising a combination of various Lactoccocus strains and a combination of a Brevibacterium strain and a Staphylococcus strain, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20030027722
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for increasing and/or prolonging in vivo or in vitro activity of plant growth regulators (PGRs), comprising of locally increasing the concentration of active plant growth regulators in a plant and/or plant part(s) and/or increasing the sensitivity of the plant and/or plant part(s) to the activity of the plant growth regulators. The local increase can for instance take place by administering the PGRs in capsules. The increase in the sensitivity can be brought about by administering elicitors or means which result in the formation of elicitors. By adding both elicitors and (modified, e.g. slow-release) PGRs the induced response can be timed.

  • Patent number: 5151920
Abstract: A radio LAN station is provided for receiving information frames including start and end delimiters and user data therebetween. The start and end delimiters include both data symbols and special non-data symbols. The data symbols and non-data symbols being transmitted to the radio LAN station are sent thereto via a spread spectrum signal. The data symbols and the non-data symbols are spread via first and second spreading codes, respectively. The receiving radio LAN station includes first and second correlators which respectively correlate the received spread spectrum signal against the first spreading code to retrieve the data symbols and against the second spreading code to retrieve the non-data symbols. Rectangular representations of the received data and non-data symbols are thus produced and are converted to polar form via appropriate rectangular to polar converters. The polar representations of the data and non-data symbols respectively exhibit a vector length Z and a vector length Z'.
