  • Publication number: 20080302880
Abstract: A static motor cooling device for a centrifugal blower or axial fan assembly is provided. The blower or fan assembly includes an electric motor, a motor housing for enclosing the electric motor, a drive shaft operably coupled to the electric motor and extending outwardly from the motor housing, and a blower wheel or fan blade operably connected to the drive shaft. The blower or fan includes a blower or fan housing to which the motor housing is at least partially mounted. The motor cooling device comprises a shroud and at least one mounting provision. The motor cooling device is mounted over the motor housing and configured to mate with the blower or fan housing for passively directing a portion of the air being drawn into the blower or fan assembly over the motor housing for cooling the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 7258713
Abstract: A centrifugal particle separator includes a first vane assembly and a second vane assembly. The first vane assembly includes a centrally positioned hub, a collar encircling the hub and a plurality of first vanes. Each first vane can have an inner end connected to the hub and an outer end connected to the collar, wherein a trailing edge of at least one of the plurality of first vanes can extend past an edge of the collar. The second vane assembly includes a centrally positioned hub, a collar encircling the hub and a plurality of second vanes circumferentially disposed about the hub. Each second vane can have an inner end connected to the hub and an outer end connected to the collar, wherein a leading edge of at least one of the plurality of second vanes can extend past an edge of the collar. When the first and second vane assemblies are secured together, at least one of the plurality of first vanes protrudes into the second vane assembly.

  • Patent number: 7104753
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fan guard which utilizes an associated electric motor body for increased support and rigidity. The fan guard includes an inner housing member which mounts to an electric motor body. A plurality of circumferentially spaced reinforcing ribs is each connected at an inner end to the inner housing member. Each reinforcing rib extends radially outward therefrom. A plurality of spaced fan guard ribs is connected at an inner end to the inner housing member and extends radially outward therefrom. A rim extends circumferentially around the plurality of fan guard ribs and is connected to an outer end of each of the fan guard ribs.

  • Patent number: 6280493
Abstract: An air pre-cleaner for centrifugally ejecting heavier than air particulates from an air stream for use in an apparatus having an air intake includes a hood having an opening through which air enters the pre-cleaner. A vane assembly includes a centrally positioned dome, a collar encircling the dome, and a plurality of inlet vanes each being connected at an inner end to the dome and at an outer end to the collar. Each inlet vane is angled in relation to the horizontal plane. The vane assembly further includes a horizontal wall extending radially outward from the collar. An impeller assembly is rotatably mounted to the vane assembly. Also provided is a base on which the vane assembly is supported via the horizontal wall. The hood, the vane assembly and the base are secured to each other. Clean air exits the pre-cleaner through a central opening in the base and dirty air exits the pre-cleaner through peripheral openings in the base.
