The method includes receiving, from a base station, a message including first information configuring a medium access control (MAC) parameter for the terminal; identifying whether second information is configured in the first information, the second information indicating the terminal to skip an uplink transmission; receiving, from the base station, an uplink grant; and determining whether to skip a generation of a MAC protocol data unit (PDU) for the uplink grant based on the second information. The generation of the MAC PDU is skipped, in case that the uplink grant is addressed to a cell radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI).

A user equipment transmits an uplink signal for requesting communications on the shared channel to a Node B, and waits for a delay duration without monitoring a downlink after transmitting the uplink signal. When the delay duration has elapsed, the user equipment monitors the downlink during a valid period and determines whether a downlink signal responding to the uplink signal is received in a transmission time interval within the valid period. When the downlink signal is received in the valid period, the user equipment transmits and receives data on the shared channel.

The method of transmitting data in user equipment of a wireless communication system using a carrier aggregation technique according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the steps of setting secondary cells included in an S-TAG (Secondary-Timing Advance Group) configured of only secondary cells (SCells), deactivating a downlink timing reference cell in the S-TAG; determining whether other activated secondary cells exist besides the deactivated downlink timing reference cell in the S-TAG, and when the other activated secondary cells exist in the S-TAG, setting one of the other activated secondary cells as a new downlink timing reference cell. According to the present invention, uplink transmission speed can be increased in the user equipment and user QoS can be improved by transmitting data using one or more uplink carriers in the terminal.
