  • Publication number: 20220185519
Abstract: There is described a packaging machine for producing sealed packages of a pourable product from a web of packaging material, the packaging machine comprises an isolation chamber having an inner environment and within which, in use, the web of packaging material is formed into a tube, a conduct assembly being in fluid connection with the inner environment; the conduct assembly defining and/or forming together with the inner environment at least a portion of a flow circuit of the packaging machine, a nitrogen distribution unit configured to inject and/or direct nitrogen into the flow circuit and a flow controlling device configured to create a flow of gas along a flow path within the flow circuit from the inner environment through at least a portion of the conduct assembly back into the inner environment.

  • Patent number: 9156576
Abstract: An arrangement is provided to prevent emissions of hydrogen peroxide from a packaging machine forming sealed packaging containers from a packaging material web. The packaging machine has a sterilization portion comprising an inlet chamber, a peroxide bath and an aseptic chamber. The aseptic chamber is held at an overpressure while the inlet chamber is held at an underpressure during normal operation of the packaging machine. The peroxide bath functions as a seal between the inlet chamber and the aseptic chamber. A safety chamber placed in front of the inlet chamber is held at an underpressure to avoid peroxide emissions to the environment. The packaging material web will pass the safety chamber before going into the inlet chamber.

  • Patent number: 6662533
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of shrink film wrapping of one or more objects (15). The method employs two film webs, a first (1) and a second (2). The first film web carries a pre-printed decorative artwork with regularly recurring register maintenance markings. The second film web (2) is blank and carries no register maintenance markings. The two film webs (1, 2) are joined or fused together when the objects (15) are moved in by means of a pusher (16) towards the film webs (1, 2), in one or more rows. A sealing device (18, 19), consisting of an upper (18) and a lower (19) sealing jaw, stretches the film webs (1, 2) around the objects (15) and once seals the film webs (1, 2). During the downward movement of the upper sealing jaw (18), the first film web (1) is held fast by a brake (8). The first film web (1) is held in register in that the first film web (1), during the sealing, is advanced by means of a drive roller (6) for the formation of a loosely hanging loop (21).

  • Patent number: 6578698
Abstract: The invention relates to a safety arrangement in a package turning device. The package turning device is of the type which turns selected packages which are conveyed on a conveyor path through the package turning device. The package turning device essentially comprises a piston and cylinder assembly whose piston rod is disposed to move parallel with the conveyor path, a turning member and a gripping member. The safety arrangement includes an anchorage disposed on the piston rod of the piston and cylinder assembly, and a bracket. The bracket is disposed to support the turning member and the gripping member. The anchorage and the bracket are united in spring-biased fashion and enclose between them a cavity. An incoming air conduit and an outgoing air conduit are connected to the cavity. A pressure guard is disposed on the outgoing air conduit. The cavity is closed in the normal operation of the package turning device.
