  • Publication number: 20040173411
Abstract: An elevator having deflecting rollers integrated in the cage floor or in the counterweight. The support and drive element is guided in the cage floor through a floor channel. By comparison with a conventional cage floor with deflecting rollers (bottom blocks) arranged underneath the cage floor, the cage floor is constructed to be very small in height overall, which has a direct effect on the shaft pit depth. The height gained by the cage floor can be saved in the shaft pit depth.

  • Publication number: 20040045772
Abstract: An elevator having a car and a suspension member or respectively hoisting member for carrying an operating weight. Furthermore, a power transmission is intended for moving the suspension member and the hoisting member over at least one moving surface of the power transmission. The power transmission and the suspension member or respectively hoisting member are rope-shaped and/or belt-shaped. Also, the power transmission and the suspension member or respectively hoisting member are physically separated from each other. The power transmission and the suspension member or respectively hoisting member are stretched against at least one supporting body.

  • Patent number: 6612403
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for generating hoistway information from images of the surface patterns of a hoistway component such as a guide rail sensed by a CCD line camera. The image data are input into a first correlator which uses an incremental position of a new image and an absolute position of a preceding image to generate an estimated position. The estimated position is input into a second correlator and is used to locate the relevant database sector in which the image which was stored in the database during calibration is situated. The second correlator compares the new image with the stored image and determines from the position index of the stored image the absolute position of the elevator car which is transmitted to the elevator control.

  • Patent number: 6053287
Abstract: An apparatus for moving a car along a travel path along guide rails includes a linear drive having a fixed first platform attached to the car and connected by springs with a movable second platform. Holding-units are attached to both platforms for engaging the guide rails and operating-units are connected between the platforms for relative movement. The holding-units and the operating-units include piezoelectric actuators that are selectively energized to move the car.
