Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing EPG in a digital broadcasting system, in which an EPG connecting unit connects EPG servers of digital broadcasting channels, a program information generating unit generates program information according to program characteristics of the digital broadcasting channels, and an EPG server generates EPG information using the generated program information, and combines the generated EPG information with EPG information of the broadcasting channels. Accordingly, the program information of different broadcasting channels can be searched without switching channels, and quality of the EPG service can be improved. Moreover, users can be allowed to personally configure the EPG, thereby providing the EPG according to characteristics of the users.

Abstract: A sensor network communication system interworking with a BWA communication system and a communication method therefor are provided. In a method for measuring a predetermined target in the sensor network communication system interworking with the BWA communication system, a mobile station or a server sends a measurement request for the predetermined target to a local controller over the BWA communication system. The local controller sends the measurement request to a predetermined sensor and actuator over a wireless communication protocol. The sensor and actuator measures the predetermined target and sends the measurement value to the local controller. The local controller sends a measurement result message based on the measurement value to the mobile station or the server.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing subscriber information in a mobile communication system are provided. A database stores registered information containing subscriber information, a scope of persons to view the subscriber information, and an open level for the subscriber information. A wait time information management server stores the subscriber information in the database. Upon request for a call from a calling terminal, the wait time information management server searches for the subscriber information in the database and provides the searched subscriber information according to the open level to an MSC. The MSC sends wait time information based on the subscriber information received from the wait time information management server to the calling terminal.

Abstract: Provided is a routing method in a multi-hop relay cellular network including a mobile station (MS), a base station (BS), and at least one relay station (RS). One of RSs neighboring the MS measures quality of a link to the BS, generates link quality information using the measured link quality, and transmits the link quality information to the MS. The MS receives the link quality information from the RSs, selects an optimal path depending on the received link quality information, and transmits information on the selected optimal path to the BS.

Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting/receiving data in a communication system providing Multicast/Broadcast Service (MBS). The method includes, generating transmission data to be transmitted to a receiver; allocating the transmission data to a frame; setting a MAP message that includes information on a frame offset related to the frame; and transmitting to the receiver the MAP message.

Abstract: A contact mask having guard ring patterns for manufacturing a semiconductor device which can prevent a lifting of a photoresist film in guard ring regions. A first guard ring pattern and a second guard ring pattern in the contact mask are formed along the perimeter portion of contact patterns in the contact mask. The first and second guard ring patterns have a plurality of discontinuous patterns, respectively. Each of the discontinuous patterns of the first guard ring pattern and each of the discontinuous patterns of the second guard ring pattern are formed in a zigzag pattern relative to each other. During the etching process using the contact mask, a photoresist pattern for the guard ring is not lifted due to an insufficient area existing between the photoresist pattern and an insulating layer in the guard ring region.

Abstract: An improved pulse width modulation method for a power transforming apparatus which is capable of decreasing a switching efficiency loss by providing a phase having the maximum size of a phase current which is not switched. The method includes the steps of a first step for computing a phase voltage command in accordance with a phase of a voltage from the load circuit, a second step for performing a three-phase pulse width modulation with respect to the phase voltage command when the voltage and frequency applied to the load circuit are below a predetermined value, a third step for computing new phase voltage commands which have the same phase as the phase of a current when the voltage and frequency applied to the load circuit are above a predetermined value, and a fourth step for performing a pulse width modulation so that a switching operation having the maximum absolute value of the current among the new phase voltage commands obtained in the third step becomes idle.

Abstract: An improved cylindrical linear motor is capable of being more easily assembled by changing the constructions of a primary iron core and a primary coil and significantly preventing an over-heating of the primary coil. The motor includes primary toothed sections formed of stacked steel plates, with the primary toothed sections being spaced-apart from one another, a supporting member formed to support the primary toothed sections, coils wound onto the supporting member and between the primary toothed sections, a yoke formed of stacked steel plates and engaged to the primary toothed sections between which the coils are wound, and a secondary iron core inserted within the primary iron cores.

Abstract: The mask of the present invention consists of a first pad provided thereto, a second pad opposing the first pad at a given distance therefrom, a zigzag-shaped line formed to interconnect the first pad and the second pad, and a plurality of unit patterns arranged to interconnect the first pad, the second pad and the line on the quartz substrate. The mask of the present invention makes it possible to have a quantitative, qualitative and classified analysis for the defect because it can not only analyze the occurrence frequency of the defects by the defect inspection system but also can have an electrical measurement.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling the temperature in a refrigerating chamber of a refrigerator by supplying appropriate cooled air to each of the compartments of the refrigerating chamber according to a temperature in each of the compartments. A cooled air controlling plate is provided for controlling the size of the cooled air discharge outlet according to the individual temperatures in the compartments. The cooled air controlling plate is moved in an up and down direction in multiple stages depending on the temperature in the refrigerating chamber to control the cooled air discharge rate to each of the compartments of the refrigerating chamber so as to make the temperature in the refrigerating chamber uniform.
