Abstract: An advertisement-free program recording method and system is provided for recording a broadcast program excluding advertisement breaks. A program recording method of the present invention includes reserving a duration of time or program to be recorded; receiving broadcast data in the duration; recording the received broadcast data; determining whether advertisement data is detected in the received broadcast data; stopping recording the broadcast data when advertisement data is detected; and restarting recording the broadcast data when no advertisement data is detected.

Abstract: A digital broadcast file data receiving method and a digital broadcast file data receiving apparatus are provided. The digital broadcast file data receiving method and the digital broadcast file data receiving apparatus enable reception and display of proper broadcast file data by detecting an error in a specific data block and receiving the specific data block again in a process of receiving digital broadcast file data.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transceiving additional data using unallocated slots of a header of a frame used in a broadcast system are provided. A data transceiving apparatus includes a data transmitter for encoding, modulating, and transmitting a broadcast frame including a first region containing broadcast data and a second region containing additional data and a data receiver for receiving the broadcast frame, extracting at least any of the broadcast data and the additional data from the broadcast frame, and processing the broadcast data and the additional data independently.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and auto-focusing method for the same are disclosed. The auto-focusing method uses a lens position error compensation and includes: detecting a target object during a photograph mode; determining a lens position at which a focus value gradient related to the detected target object changes sign while moving a lens of the camera module in units of one step size; and performing lens position compensation by moving the lens to the found lens position. As a result, the lens position errors caused by a conventional a voice coil motor are compensated, thereby providing rapid and fine auto-focusing.

Abstract: A method and system for displaying digital broadcast signals are disclosed. The method displays a broadcast signal, transmitted from a portable terminal having a digital broadcast receiver, on an external device having a decoding unit. When the external device transmits a digital broadcast playback request and selected channel information, the portable terminal controls the digital broadcast receiver to select a broadcast channel according to the selected channel information, demultiplexes a broadcast signal of the selected broadcast channel, and transmits the demodulated broadcast signal. The external device classifies the demodulated broadcast signal as audio, video, and broadcast information, decodes the classified signals and plays them back.

Abstract: A jumping window based fast pattern matching method using TCAM includes TCAM entries containing all possible sub-patterns independent of position. Due to these sub-patterns, the method can search for all patterns appearing within the window at once. If a match is not found, the method jumps to the next window (shift size of M bytes), opposed to the sliding window method that shifts to the next byte (shift size of 1 byte). This incurs a pattern match that is M times faster, despite requiring a larger TCAM size to be able to represent all possible redundant sub-patterns in the TCAM; here, M is the size of a jumping window. In addition, the present invention employs a two-phase pattern matching sequence for a large number of long patterns such as virus and worm signatures. In the first phase, the fixed prefix will be searched with TCAM; then, only the CRC value for the remaining pattern is examined to confirm the existence of the entire pattern.

Abstract: A digital broadcasting receiver having a location registration and notification function is disclosed. The device generates a separate database for storing and managing the data necessary to compose a broadcast guide picture among the received EPG data, which enables rapid and effective access to the data.

The fixed program channel information is matched with a genre in which a fixed program channel has been registered, and a result of the matching is displayed. The dynamic program channel information is matched with a genre in which a dynamic program channel has been registered and a genre of a program currently being broadcast on the dynamic program channel, and a result of the matching is displayed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for searching for a digital broadcasting program. A user inputs search information to search for a predetermined digital broadcasting program. When the search information is input, at least one digital broadcasting program corresponding to the search information and broadcasting program information thereof are detected from a guide data for digital broadcasting programs. A list of the at least one detected digital broadcasting program and the detected broadcasting program information are stored in a memory.
