  • Publication number: 20150369015
Abstract: Disclosed is a drifting system (300) comprising a drifting element (100) having a wall (114) defining a through flow passage (102) extending in an axial direction (104) of the drifting element and a catcher sub having a through hole. In accordance with embodiment of the herein disclosed subject matter the catcher sub has a seat for receiving the drifting element (100) in the through hole. The through flow passage (102) of the drifting element (100) has a first cross section of flow (106) in a first axial region (108) of the drifting element (100) and has a second, smaller cross section of flow (110) in a second axial region (112) of the drifting element (100) located downstream the first axial region (108). Further, the wall (114) of the drifting element (100) has a lateral outlet (116) extending from the through flow passage (102) in the second axial region (112) and/or from the through flow passage (102) at a location upstream the second axial region (112) through the wall.

  • Publication number: 20130036141
Abstract: A method of using latitude and longitude coordinates of a point as a means to specify a unique and unmistakable destination address. These coordinates are not affected by changes in street numbering, changes in street names, and these coordinates are never out-dated nor do they require updating or upgrading. Some examples of where the latitude and longitude coordinates can be displayed are on items such as business cards, letterheads, directories, advertisements, billboards and websites.

  • Patent number: 6655477
Abstract: The friction reducing drill pipe component in the form of a sub (10) is adapted to form part of a drill string. The sub (10) comprises a tubular mandrel (12) having first and second ends for connection to adjacent components of the drill string. A sleeve (18) is mounted on the mandrel (12), and first and second stops on the mandrel (16, 20) restrain the sleeve 18 against axial movement relative to the mandrel (12). One of the stops (20) is removable or retractable to permit the sleeve (18) to be removed over the first end of the mandrel.

  • Publication number: 20020129976
Abstract: A friction and/or torque reducing drillstring component has a one-piece mandrel body 5 with a mandrel body recess 13c considerably smaller than mandrel upper neck 13a and mandrel body lower neck 13b, dressed with an outer sleeve 18 which is interlocked with a two-piece inner bearing 20 through several integral dove-tailed splines 22b and grooves 22a. The combination of the outer sleeve 18 and inner bearing 20 is restricted in vertical movement over the said mandrel body 5 by an integral, optionally spirally, bladed first stop 15 and a removable second stop 16. The removable second stop 16 is locked onto the mandrel body upper neck 13a by means of threaded retaining bolts 24. Once the second stop 16 is removed, the one-piece outer sleeve 18 is retractable over the mandrel body upper neck 13a to allow the removal of the two-piece inner bearing 20. A second inner bearing 155 may also be provided.

  • Publication number: 20010040035
Abstract: A method of setting a packer in a bore comprises the steps: mounting a packer on an elongate support member; mounting a casing scraper (10) on the elongate member; running the packer and the casing scraper (10) into a bore on the elongate member to a section of the bore where the packer is to be set; cleaning the section of bore with the scraper (10); and setting the packer in the cleaned section of bore. The scraper (10) comprises: a mandrel (22) adapted for coupling to the elongate member; a sleeve (14) mounted on the mandrel (22); and a plurality of scraper members (16) on the sleeve (14), the members (16) being radially movable relative to the mandrel (22).
