    Abstract: Disclosed is a hybrid button device for use in a variety of host systems. The device includes a button unit and a capacitance measuring unit. The button unit controls various functions of a host system using a control unit and in response to a manipulation made by a user. The button unit includes a PCB pattern and a dome sheet and is manipulated by the user so that when the button unit is pushed by the user, a corresponding key value is output to control a function of the host system. The capacitance measuring unit is connected to the button unit and measures the capacitance when the user touches the button unit. When the user touches the button unit, the capacitance measuring unit determines whether to operate or not, and a corresponding key value is output by the control unit to control a corresponding function of the host system.
