  • Patent number: 11793410
Abstract: Equipment for carrying out cardiac autonomic neuropathy tests includes a base unit to which a mouthpiece is connected, forming an autonomous system for measuring the pressure and/or the pattern of breath, provided with a series of LEDs aimed at informing a patient, who is undergoing the test, about correctness or incorrectness of a test execution. The mouthpiece is provided with a flow sensor, aimed at measuring a patient's pattern of breath, and a pressure sensor. The mouthpiece includes also an atmospheric pressure sensor aimed at measuring the environmental pressure. The equipment includes also a sensor, aimed at measuring the heartbeat, applied by simple contact to the patient's wrist area, and an orthostatic measuring device aimed at measuring any change of the patient's position. Data can be introduced or analysed and the type of exam to do can be selected. Results of the tests can be stored in a memory.

  • Patent number: 8370176
Abstract: A method for interactive defining and managing of a controlled diet, prescribed to a patient by a doctor/dietician, includes the asynchronous execution of at least two different operational cycles. A first operational cycle is effected through an interactive terminal and includes a step, in which the foods to be consumed in a given meal are chosen from a first food data base, quantifying the chosen food and assessing the congruity of the choices with what is prescribed and transmitting the data to a central processing unit. A second operational cycle executed by the doctor/dietician on a central processing unit, includes acquiring the data related to the quantities and to the composition of the foods chosen by this patient and comparing this data with the dietary order, and if possible acquiring updated orders and transmitting the updated orders to the patient's interactive terminal.

  • Publication number: 20110119081
Abstract: A method for interactive definition and management of a treatment for monitoring blood glucose of a diabetic patient includes performing two distinct, asynchronous and simultaneous, work cycles, having different length: a first local cycle, shorter, includes the steps of acquiring at least one value of said patient's blood glucose by means of a glucometer integrated in a monitoring device, calculating an insulin dosage value to be administered to the patient, by means of a computing algorithm, provided by a specialist doctor, displaying the insulin dosage on a monitoring device display, and defining a date and time for subsequent acquisition of blood glucose level. Furthermore, the system automatically sends glycemic information to the doctor, if they are beyond mean value parameters, time passed from a last contact and number of hypoglycemic value measurements, that the specialist himself can set for each patient and modify over time.

  • Publication number: 20100256993
Abstract: A method for interactive defining and managing of a controlled diet, prescribed to a patient by a doctor/dietician or another operator authorized to such function, includes the asynchronous execution of at least two different operational cycles. A first operational cycle is effected through an interactive terminal, for example a mobile phone, with which the above mentioned patient is equipped substantially for each meal consumed by the patient. The interactive terminal runs a program, which is started on patient's command, and which operates on the basis of dietary order made by the doctor/dietician for the patient. The first operational cycle includes a step, in which the foods to be consumed in a given meal are chosen from a fist food data base, a step of quantification of the chosen food and a step of assessment of the congruity of the choices made by the patient with what is prescribed by the order.

  • Publication number: 20060167345
Abstract: The present method for the interactive management of data concerning a patient-controlled insulin therapy for a diabetic patient requires the use of a cellular phone for interacting with the patient and with his doctor, by means of a computer program stored and run on the same cellular phone, and working on a database containing all the necessary data structures. The aforesaid method comprises: the periodic input of data concerning the current patient's glycemic level, and their storage in a dedicated memory of said program database; the periodic input and storage of data concerning the physical activity performed by the patient; the periodical input and storage of data concerning the timing and dosing of insulin self-administrated by the patient; the input and storage of data concerning exceptional events for the patient's health; the input and storage of a base insulin dosing prescribed by the patient's doctor.
