  • Publication number: 20240425021
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle combination (2) on a longitudinally inclined roadway (4) can be carried out when the vehicle combination (2) is located on the longitudinally inclined roadway (4). The method includes detecting a tensile or compressive force acting on a trailer drawbar (12) of a vehicle trailer (10) of the vehicle combination (2) using a force sensor (22) arranged on the trailer drawbar (12); generating a brake signal as a function of the detected tensile or compressive force; and controlling a mechanical friction brake (32) of the vehicle trailer (10) based on the generated brake signal for providing a braking force acting on the vehicle trailer (10). In addition, a system (200) for carrying out the method, a vehicle trailer (10) having such a system (200), and a vehicle combination (2) having such a vehicle trailer (10) are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10864977
Abstract: A maritime drift control system comprising a vessel movement detection unit, for detecting an actual vessel speed and direction, and a vessel movement control unit with a drift controller for controlling operation of at least one propulsion device of a vessel. The maritime drift control system comprises a drift error generator for generating drift error signals depending on a predetermined speed limit and the actual vessel speed. The drift error generator is connected to the drift controller to transmit the drift error signals to the drift controller. The drift controller uses the drift error signals to compute and transmit propulsion command signals to the at least one propulsion device in order to reduce speed and alter the direction of the vessel to target values. The invention comprises further a maritime vessel with a corresponding maritime drift control system.

  • Publication number: 20030090145
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for controlling a braking arrangement on a heavy vehicle. The braking arrangement comprises a main brake, which includes braking devices (1a -f), for example disc brakes, that are each arranged to act on one of the vehicle wheels (2a-f). Furthermore, the braking arrangement comprises at least one auxiliary brake (3) and a brake control (10) with which the named main brake (1a-f) and auxiliary brake (3) are activated. When a driver activates the brake control (10), a control unit (9) in the arrangement is arranged to initiate activation of the main brakes (1a-f) and the auxiliary brake (3) and thus distributes the braking effect between these brakes in such a way that the braking effect requested by the driver is obtained in the shortest possible time and in such a way that the use of the brake devices (1a-f) of the main brake is minimised after an initial period. The invention relates to a braking system for a heavy vehicle, which comprises an arrangement described above.
