  • Publication number: 20150204231
Abstract: A system for pressurizing a cooling circuit of an internal combustion engine equipped with a turbocompressor unit. The turbocompressor has a turbine arranged on an exhaust line of the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine and a compressor arranged on the intake line internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine comprises a cooling circuit comprising an expansion tank connected, by a pneumatic pipe, to a point of the intake line downstream of the compressor. The pneumatic pipe comprises a mechanical valve, adapted to open and to close said pneumatic pipe in relation to a differential pressure between a point upstream and a point downstream of the mechanical valve itself.

  • Publication number: 20150007791
Abstract: The present invention relates to a seal unit (10) suitable to be inserted in the first groove (20?) of a piston (20) of an internal combustion engine. The seal unit (10) according to the invention comprises a first ring-shaped body (10?) which defines a first gap section (12?) and a second ring-shaped body (10?) which defines a second gap section (12?). According to the invention such bodies are overlapping so that the position of said first section (12?) is different from the position of said second section (12?) in relation to a reference axis (101) to which the two bodies (10?,10?) are coaxial.

  • Patent number: 6681575
Abstract: A turbocompound internal combustion engine having a turbocharger with a variable-geometry turbine; and an auxiliary turbine, which is located downstream from the turbine of the turbocharger, provides for recovering energy from the exhaust gas, and is connected mechanically to the drive shaft of the engine via a transmission; a control device compares the rotation speed of the auxiliary turbine, detected by means of a sensor, with a range of permissible speeds calculated on the basis of the speed of the drive shaft, and controls fuel supply to the engine and the geometry of the variable-geometry turbine to maintain the speed of the auxiliary turbine within predetermined limits in the event of a fault on the transmission.

  • Publication number: 20020017273
Abstract: An assembly for providing an engine brake system for an internal combustion engine, in particular of an industrial vehicle, which engine comprises a plurality of cylinders, a cylinder head provided, for each such cylinder, with at least one exhaust valve and, for each such exhaust valve, with a relative control cam having a profile comprising at least one section that can be selectively actuated by varying the valve play, the assembly comprising, for each cylinder, a support body adapted to be connected to the cylinder head and bearing at least one rocker arm support spindle, the rocker arm support spindle being coupled, by means of an eccentric bushing, to a rocker arm adapted to be interposed between an exhaust valve and a cam in order to oscillate about an axis, the assembly lastly comprising an actuator adapted to rotate the eccentric bushing with respect to the support body in order to displace the axis of oscillation of the rocker arms and to vary the valve play between these rocker arms and the exhaust

  • Patent number: 6047670
Abstract: A purifier device for a bleed circuit of a block of an internal combustion engine provided with a filter member acting by coalescence adapted to be traversed by a flow of gases from the interior of the block and containing oil and particulates in suspension; the filter member has an absolute retaining power such as to allow the passage of the particulates so that they are incorporated on the particles of oil agglomerated by coalescence within the filter member and are removed with this oil without the risk of the filter member becoming clogged up.

  • Patent number: 5440879
Abstract: An electronic control system for a variable geometry turbocompressor applied to a diesel engine, in which a first circuit produces, in response to input signals, a first closed-loop piloting signal supplied to an actuator which modifies the geometrical characteristics of the turbocompressor. The system further comprises a second circuit which receives as input a measurement signal proportional to the speed of rotation of the turbocompressor and generates a second piloting signal which is supplied to the actuator when the measurement signal exceeds a stored limit value.
