  • Patent number: 10723418
Abstract: A surfboard having laterally opposed pairs of axial or lengthwise grooves with the pair forming opposed rails of greater stiffness and reduced mass. At least one of the grooves of each pair is at a board edge extremity and the other groove is nearby, preferably near or on the lower side of the surfboard. The grooves may be laid up with epoxy or fiberglass.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 21, 2018
Date of Patent: July 28, 2020

  • Patent number: 9527457
Abstract: A sport board with a forward outboard extension for supporting an action camera. The extension member has a curved section between generally straight sections that places the action camera forward and slightly above the surface of the board. The extension member may be a unitary member mounted on either surface of the board, or a two-piece member, with one piece mounted on the upper surface and another piece mounted on a lower surface. When the sport board is a surfboard, the construction of the extension member resembles a fin.

  • Patent number: 9517818
Abstract: A surfboard with a forward curved fin that extends forwardly of the nose of the surfboard. The curved fin supports a platform for an action camera usually pointed at a board user. At least one adjustable strut between the platform and curved fin can provide a desired elevation or angle to the platform and camera for action filming of a user of the surfboard.

  • Patent number: 7985111
Abstract: One or more tubular carbon fiber stringers are axially aligned with the lengthwise dimension of a water sport board, such as a surfboard. A tubular carbon fiber stringer may have vertical shaping tabs reaching opposed major surfaces of the board and laterally extending tabs that register the stringer position inside of a board by fitting in channels that tightly nest the stringer in the board. Tublar carbon fiber stringers, designed to extend more than half the length of a board, may be made by molding symmetric halves, then joining the halves together, or by winding carbon fiber around a mandrel, epoxying the fiber in place and removing the mandrel. Board blanks have openings to seat the tubular stringers, such as by seating in board halves, or a tubular stringer may be seated in an empty board blank mold with foam blown around the stringer.
