Patent number: 9543813Abstract: Apparatus and method for winding at least one electric wire W on a coil support (10) of a core of a dynamo electric by using a wire dispensing member (19) means (21, 25) for rotating the coil support with respect to the dispensing member (19). It is foreseen to provide a relative movement of the dispensing member (19) with respect to the coil support (10) to maintain the angular orientation constant during winding. Furthermore it is foreseen to press on a portion (WP) of wire wound on the coil support (10) where the portion of wire (WP) is located immediately adjacent to a portion of wire that still has to be wound on the coil support (10). Engaging occurs also of the wire portion (WP) wound on the coils support and that extends to the dispensing member (19) when passage from one turn to another occurs for the stratification; the engagement occurring in opposition to the direction (Z?) of stratification of the wire.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2009Date of Patent: January 10, 2017Assignee: ATOP S.p.A.Inventors: Massimo Ponzio, Gianfranco Stratico, Maurizio Mugelli

Patent number: 8893374Abstract: Method and Apparatus are provided for automatically disposing plural wires along predetermined trajectories, wherein the plural wires extend from coils wound in slots of dynamoelectric machine cores. Plural wires forming leads are located in predetermined positions and caused to extend along predetermined directions by means of manipulating equipment and tooling which operates automatically. In addition, the equipment and tooling cause the plural wires to become twisted and cut to form portions for connection to terminals. The tooling is provided with reference surfaces and seats which are used to bend the plural wires along the predetermined trajectories and to provide a position constraint for the portions becoming twisted. Apparatus can be provided for positioning portions of a plurality of restraining members in the spacing existing between the bridges of the coils and the end faces of a dynamo electric machine core.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2013Date of Patent: November 25, 2014Assignee: ATOP S.p.A.Inventors: Massimo Ponzio, Gianfranco Stratico, Rubino Corbinelli, Paolo Nesti

Patent number: 8424792Abstract: An apparatus and a method for winding wire coils in cores of dynamo electric machine using needles that are relatively movable with respect to the cores. Wire guides are provided that are also relatively movable with respect to the needle and the core so that the wire leaving the needle can be delivered to predetermined positions around the poles of the core to wind the wire coils. The wire guides are supported adjacent to the ends of the core by support means which have portions occupying positions of the needle trajectory during winding. The portion of the support means are movable as a function of the position occupied by the needle around the poles so that the needle can move without being obstructed. The arrangement enhances accuracy of guiding and positioning of the wire to form the wire coils and is suitable for compactly sized cores.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2011Date of Patent: April 23, 2013Assignee: Atop S.p.A.Inventors: Massimo Ponzio, Gianfranco Stratico

Publication number: 20120112597Abstract: Stator designs have wide-mouth slots between adjacent poles. Wire coils with high slot fill conductivity are formed around the poles. In some designs, the wire coils are wave wound around the poles. Thick bar conductors can be used for making the wire coils. The wire coils may be inserted using nozzle dispensers or transferred from a pre-form mandrel. In other designs, the wire coils are pre-formed on transferable pockets that are then mounted on the poles. Optional pole extensions or shoes can be attached to the stator poles after the wire coils are formed around the poles.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2011Publication date: May 10, 2012Applicant: ATOP S.p.A.Inventors: Raffaele Becherucci, Massimo Pelletta, Rodolfo Pes, Gianfranco Stratico

Patent number: 7434759Abstract: The present invention concerns forming wire coils by simultaneously winding a plurality of wires onto a dynamo-electric machine component. In order to maximize the amount of wire that can be placed in the spacings of the dynamo-electric machine component, the turns of the wire coil must be regularly disposed without twisting the plurality of wires onto each other. Current winding apparatus may allow certain portions of the wire turns to unevenly accumulate and locally bulge outward from the collection of wire coils. Such bulges, especially in consideration of the limited spacings available on an dynamo-electric machine component, may interfere with or access to the spacings by a wire dispensing member during the winding process. The present invention proposes to perform multiple-wire winding processes that avoid wire twisting and improper disposition of the wires. Further, the present invention proposes to improve the ability of the wire dispensing member to traverse the spacings on the component.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2006Date of Patent: October 14, 2008Assignee: ATOP S.p.A.Inventors: Gianfranco Stratico, Antonio Lumini
