Abstract: Methods are provided for locating a mobile radio communication device with a receiver detecting electromagnetic identification signals broadcast by transmitters in a confined environment, or an object with a transmitter periodically broadcasting an electromagnetic identification signal detectable by a plurality of receivers of a localization infrastructure. The receiver of the mobile radiocommunication device, or the plurality of receivers of the localization infrastructure, determine identification data indicative of strength of received identification signals, forming an identification data matrix which is processed to obtain an identification data matrix with reduced noise, from which a characteristic identification vector is extracted including a characteristic identification data element for each transmitter or receiver.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for automated planning deployment of radio communication devices in an environment includes providing a map of the environment including elementary areas representing genes of individuals of a population, defining a fitness function for calculating a fitness score, setting a seed population, calculating a fitness score for the seed population, applying at least one evolutionary step to the seed population to determine a next generation population, calculating a fitness score for the next generation population and comparing fitness scores of the next generation and seed populations.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for indoor localization of a user equipped with a localization device having electromagnetic signal receiver means and means for detecting the orientation in a predetermined spatial reference system, wherein the indoor space is divided up into a plurality of rooms each of which includes a plurality of spatial volumes or areas, nodes, which are connected together in a directed-graph arrangement, and wherein a plurality of radio transmitters each designed to emit a respective localization signal are arranged inside this space. The method is based on the synergic use of three localization methods, i.e. fingerprinting, inertial navigation with intelligent step recognition and proximity localization.
