  • Patent number: 8046901
Abstract: Compact plant for making steel bars and profiles with which, starting from the scrap, it is possible to obtain the finished product, for example bars with commercial length from 6 to 18 meters, pre-packed, packaged and ready for sale, with all the stations placed in line and operating continuously. All the stations are arranged in reduced spaces, thereby reducing both investment costs and plant management costs, and decreasing production times. Advantageously, the plant of the invention incorporates an extremely compact bar packaging apparatus which, through an innovative arrangement and innovative operating method of the components thereof, allows a further reduction in length.

  • Publication number: 20080295990
Abstract: Oscillating table in which the oscillation drive, comprising a hydraulic actuator, transmits the oscillating motion to the mould via a spring subject to bending stress, for example a fitted rod. The body of the hydraulic actuator is also anchored to the floor by means of a fitted spring subjected to bending stress. Thus thanks to the absence of any mechanical bearings in the drive mechanism, all disadvantageous movements caused as a result of bearing play, which increases at high oscillation frequencies, are eliminated. Moreover, the use of mould guide elements having a much simpler design and consisting of straightforward bars, also ensures greater guidance precision and enables a reduction in the oscillation marks on the cast product, a reduction that is even more noticeable when working at higher oscillation frequencies. Advantageously, the presence of an anti-roll device, consisting of two or more pairs of bars, for example two pairs, ensures good torsional rigidity of the table.

  • Patent number: 7316337
Abstract: A device for discharging molten metal from a container to another, comprising an outlet sleeve which penetrates into the lower container pushed by springs against a nozzle of refractory material which connects the inside of the upper container with the outside, so as to make a seal for the molten metal. The outlet sleeve is surrounded by a cylindrical sheath which joins, through a sand joint with a cylindrical blade fixed to the base of the upper container, around the aperture where it faces the nozzle. The sheath and the blade enclose a volume into which an inert gas is injected to remove the air possibly present.

  • Patent number: 7316338
Abstract: An discharging device for molten metal between an upper ladle (1) and a tundish (3) comprising a slide valve nozzle fixed to the base of the ladle, comprising an upper fixed nozzle (42) and a mobile one below (43), inserted into an opening in the base of said slide valve nozzle with the lower end protruding from it, and a ring shaped blade (46) fixed to the base of the slide valve nozzle around said aperture. The tundish (3) comprises a cylindrical jacket (22) placed with a vertical axis and fitted at its end with a sand joint (24) for sealing gas into which the ring shaped blade is sunk (46). The slide valve nozzle can be fixed to the base of the ladle by mountings (48, 49) fitted with eyelets into which pivots (50) are inserted.
