  • Patent number: 5535921
Abstract: A sample dispenser for dispensing a sample of a product. The dispenser includes a dispensing apparatus for dispensing the sample where the dispensing apparatus is displaceable between a stand-by position and a dispensing position in which the dispensing apparatus dispenses the sample. The dispenser also includes motorized driving apparatus for selectively driving the dispensing apparatus between its stand-by position and its dispensing position and user controlled activation apparatus for actuating the driving apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5443188
Abstract: A system for simulating human gait embodied as a human-like model, for example, a mannequin, a scarecrow and the like depending on the intended application of the system, driven by a driving system along a pair of tracks. The driving system includes rotatable terminals for reversing the direction of advancement of the model. The model has legs which are pivotally connected to one another in a spaced alignment at a waist enabling a scissor-like action during the step-by-step advancement of the model along the tracks. The waist includes a balancing mechanism for maintaining a substantially even keel of the model during the gait-like motion. Furthermore, the legs include an upper segment pivotally connected at a knee-like joint to a lower segment such the legs have a tendency for a flexion movement and urging mechanisms for straightening them. Still further, the legs terminate in feet pivotally connected thereto which are provided with front and rear shock absorbers for smoothing the gait-like motion.

  • Patent number: 5129121
Abstract: A turbine driven rotating brush includes a turbine enclosed in a housing having an inlet for receiving water and an outlet for discharging water flow. A port in the housing directs water onto blades of the turbine. A reduction gear transmits the torque output of the turbine to a shaft on which the brush is mounted. The turbine may be located adjacent a backstop so that water exiting the housing through the outlet is incident on the backstop. The backstop breaks up the discharge of the flow of water outwardly away from the brush for achieving different spray patterns around the brush.

  • Patent number: 5018289
Abstract: An improved display device, which includes an enclosure having first and second opposing planar sections each having at least one opening formed therein. A plurality of elongated spools are mounted inside the enclosure, a first pair of the spools being disposed at opposing each of the first planar section and aligned along a plane parallel to the plane of the first planar section, a second pair of the spools being disposed at opposing ends of the second planar section and aligned along a plane parallel to the plane of the second planar section. The spools have upper and lower belt engaging devices. A motor is operatively connected to at least one of the spools. Upper and lower endless belts operatively engage the belt engaging devices and sequentially connect the plurality of spools, effecting simultaneous rotation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4930176
Abstract: An ice and snow clearing device includes a brush, a heating element, a scraper and means for electrically powering the heating element. The sweeping member brushes snow or ice from the surface that is to be cleared. The scraper is connected to the rear of the brush to remove snow or ice remaining in the path of the brush. The heating element softens snow or ice remaining on the surface after operation of the brush to facilitate removal by the scraper.
