Abstract: A portable preservation apparatus of the cold storage type for a donor organ, comprising a cooling box provided with an organ chamber for receiving a donor organ in preservative fluid and a lid, wherein, on the side which operatively faces the organ chamber, the lid is provided with a connector which is detachably connected to the lid, which connector is provided with passages for one or more connecting pieces connected with the donor organ and one or more pipes connected with at least one perfusion pump, wherein the at least one perfusion pump is a miniature pump mounted at least partly in the lid and wherein the apparatus further comprises at least one oxygenator, an oxygen container, one or more electronic modules and a power supply module.

Abstract: The present application relates to a prosthesis comprising a flexible portion (1) and at least one less flexible portion (2), which flexible portion comprises a fibre-reinforced hydrogel. In addition to that, the application relates to a prosthesis consisting of a fibre-reinforced hydrogel, which prosthesis is intended to replace cartilaginous materials. The application further relates to the use of the prosthesis and to a method for manufacturing the prosthesis. The application furthermore relates to a method of preparing the flexible portion for a prosthesis. Finally, the application relates to a fibre material apparently intended for use in the prosthesis.

Abstract: A prosthesis for placement in the area of the pharynx, an upper region of the trachea (1) or in a wall (5) between the esophagus (4) and an upper region of the trachea (1) is provided with an air passage (16; 46) and a vibrating element (17, 18; 47; 77; 107, 108) for vibrating air. Because the prosthesis is provided with a stop (20, 21; 56-58; 110, 111) for abruptly impeding the movability of the vibrating element (17, 18; 47; 77; 107, 108) in at least one position, sound with a broad spectrum of frequencies is produced which, when speaking, can be effectively converted into the desired sounds. This ensures a highly improved understandability and a more natural voice. According to a practical possibility, the voice prosthesis is incorporated in a one-way valve as a modular part.
