  • Publication number: 20230314298
Abstract: A method of representing a biological process via non-speech audio and system for carrying out same are provided. The method is effected by extracting a sequence of time-related biological events from the biological process and transforming the sequence of time-related biological events into rhythm and/or melody representative of the sequence of time-related biological events thereby representing the biological process via non-speech audio.

  • Publication number: 20130268119
Abstract: Robots, robot systems, and methods may interact with users. Data from a sensor may be received by a processor associated with a robot. The processor may determine a user input based on the data from the sensor. The processor may send the user input to a remote service via a communication device. The processor may receive command data from the remote service via the communication device. The processor may cause an expressive element to perform an action corresponding to the command data.

  • Patent number: 8175728
Abstract: System and methods for recognizing user gestures by processing audio from a microphone in a personal mobile communication device (PMCD) are disclosed. One such method includes sensing audio using a microphone in the PMCD and detecting a user gesture from audio sensed by the microphone. One such system includes a microphone, memory for storing instructions, and a processor configured by the instructions to sense audio using the microphone and detecting user gestures from audio sensed by the microphone. Also disclosed is a computer-readable medium storing a computer program for use in a personal mobile communication device. The program comprises instructions to: sense audio using a microphone in the personal mobile communication device; record the audio sensed by the microphone; process the recorded audio to extract a feature; classify the feature of the recorded audio; and identify one of a plurality of user gesture types based on the classified feature.

  • Patent number: 8111241
Abstract: System and methods for an application that allows users to interactively create, transform and play music using cell phones, iPhones™ and other enabled mobile communication devices communicating with a remote host are disclosed. Using an enabled mobile communication device, users are able to strike the mobile device like a drum to create and record rhythms, enter melodies using the keypads, add voice recordings, and manipulate musical tracks by tilting the mobile device continuously in three dimensions. The musical input is sequenced in multiple tracks and the transformative manipulations are applied in real time, allowing users to create their songs in an expressive motion-based manner.
