  • Patent number: 7300697
Abstract: A reinforced polymer matrix composite material with anti-anisotropy reinforcement array is disclosed having coupled fiber reinforcement structures. The coupled fiber reinforcement structures are formed of a plurality of bound or bonded fibers, which form multi-dimensional structures capable of maintaining cross structure during molding. The structures are sized to allow their use in various molding processes. The coupled multiple fiber structures preferably have an aspect ratio of less than ten.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 5, 2004
Date of Patent: November 27, 2007
    Assignee: Chrysler LLC
Inventors: Thomas S Moore, Gilbert B Chapman, II
  • Publication number: 20040091690
Abstract: A reinforced polymer matrix composite material with an anti-anisotropy reinforcement array is disclosed having three dimensional fiber reinforcement structures. The fiber reinforcement structures are formed of a plurality of bound or bonded fibers, which form multi-dimensional structures capable of maintaining cross structure during molding. The structures are sized to allow their use in various molding processes.

  • Patent number: 5421633
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a utility/camper multiple purpose shell integrated with a pick-up truck frame and cab. The shell is adaptable (1) to being fully opened at the rear, (2) to having the roof thereof pivotally raised to permit standing room for a user, (3) to having flexible walls attached to the raised roof suitable for camping therein, and (4) to having the roof thereof lifted off of the front and side walls. The shell components are formed of light weight materials and bonded together.

  • Patent number: 4410381
Abstract: Ultrasonically welded thermoplastic materials are nondestructively inspected by sensing the infrared radiation emitted from the weld region of the material during or immediately subsequent to the welding operation. The sensed radiation levels are compared with a predetermined value and if they exceed the predetermined value are indicative of an acceptable weld. If the sensed radiation peak does not exceed the predetermined level, the weld is deemed to be unacceptable.
